RK Suresh plays Guru, a powerful man in his village, who helps protect and rescue young girls and women who are suffering due to marital abuse by drunken husbands, societal pressures or harassed by roadside romeos even. At home he has a loving wife and outside he is respected and feared in equal measure, for his valour.
In other parts of the story, we see gets peeks into the lives of a family suffering in the village when a daughter loves a boy from another social standing, and instances of a young woman realising her mistake of marrying an abusive drunk.
The movie takes you though their experiences and how a solution is found.
What price does Guru pay for all the help he does for his people? What is the plight of the girls ?
The film tries to reflect the social upheaval caused in rural areas when love marriages take place. How does society view the couple and what strict and sometimes gory measures are taken to pretzels protect the social structure are shown by the director.
The actors have done their jobs superbly. Rk Suresh makes a mark with his body language, expressions, dialogue delivery and voice. The stunt scenes further are further enhanced by his presence.
Subramania Siva as the suffering father has given a commendable performance.
All the actors right down to the supporting cast are all chosen and deliver the goods.
A scene of a girl bravely facing up to a rowdy leaves a mark.
Visuals are good and so is the music.
However, there is ample blood and gore in keeping with the nature of the story. Some of the non linear narrations, take time getting used to. The message the film tries to convey could have been helped by a better written screenplay.
An action entertainer and social drama, the film is in theatres now.
