The most awaited Silambarasan starrer, Gautham Vasudev Menon's directorial, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu ( VTK), produced by Vels Film International, hit the screens on September 15th. The story is by writer Jeymohan. Muthu ( Silambarasan) though a BSc graduate awaiting a job letter, labours in a thorny farmland, in harsh conditions, in a small village in TN. One day, he is badly injured when the area he works in catches fire. The owner threatens him and Muthu's defiant  streak scares his mother, who fears he may end up killing someone as predicted by an astrologer. The only son of a poverty stricken and desperate mother (Radhika Sarathkumar), Muthu is then sent off to Mumbai to work in a parotta kadai, in the care of an uncle. But there too, ill luck chases him,  and the uncle commits suicide the night before their departure.  Silambarasan TR's   film  directed by Gautham Menon and produced by Vels International, had a first look poster release which bowled over fans and industry folks alike. The film title has been changed to Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, taken from Bharthiyar's poetry.  Now, according to a media interview published in  Chennai Times, TOI,  producer Ishari Ganesh has reportedly revealed details of the project.  The film is a rural action drama, currently being shot in Tiruchendur and will later move to Chennai and Mumbai. Simbu, who looks years younger in the poster,  has apparently lost around 15 kgs for the role and is being trained by an instructor and well be doing special stunts for a  role unlike anything he has done before.  Radhika Sarathkumar plays his mother in the film. By Rinku Gupta The much awaited first single from Silambarasan's Maanadu was to release on Ramzan day. But now producer Suresh Kamatchi has confirmed that the release date has been postponed. Maanadu director Venkat Prabhu's mother Manimegalai Gangai Amaran, passed away recently after a brief illness.  The grief stricken director and indeed the whole Maanadu team are in shock and in a state of mourning due to the bereavement.   Therefore the producer, has decided to postpone the release of the film's first single to a later date as a mark of respect to the departed.  Suresh Kamatchi tweeted, " நம் இஸ்லாமிய உறவுகள் கொண்டாடும் ரம்ஜான் தினத்தன்று வெளியிடுவதாக இருந்த நமது#மாநாடு படத்தின் first single நமது இயக்குநர் வெங்கட் பிரபு அவர்களின் தாயார் மறைவின் வருத்தத்தில் பங்கு கொள்ளும் பொருட்டு இன்னும் சில நாட்கள் தள்ளி வெளியாக உள்ளது என்பதை வருத்தமுடன் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்." He has seen the film along with hero Silambarasan and both are thrilled with the results. Suresh Kamatchi has praised director Venkat Prabhu and the rest of the cast and crew. In yesterday's shoot, scenes involving  Silambarasan T R, Kalyani Priyadarshan,  SJSuryah, Premgi and Karunakaran were shot by Director Venkat Prabhu. Silambarasan T R surprised everyone by completing a six minute scene in just one take. Once the scene was completed, the whole unit applauded the easy way in which he managed such a long shot.  Expectsations from the movie are already sky high.

 by Rinku Gupta There was an uproar from fans on social media yesterday,  when the news came out that Suseinthiran ' s Silamabarasan - Nidhi Agerwal starrer, Eeswaran would release overseas on a Pay -Per-View digital platform, on the same day at its theatrical release, Jan14th. The TN theatre association was apparently also not happy with this move by the producers. Many fans also feared that such a digital release could  give room for pirated versions in clear HD format. Now considering all angles,  Madhav Media Works  have changed their minds and decided not to go ahead with the digital release overseas. Issuing a press statement they have said that for now,  the digital release on Jan 14th has been cancelled. The film may release later, perhaps after  3 to 4 weeks of its theatrical run. For now, the overseas digital release on Premium Video on Demand ( PVOD) on Olyflix has been postponed.

Director Obeli N. Krishna says, “The character played by Priya Bhavani Shankar wouldn’t be a blink and miss role, but will have lots of substance. She will be playing Gautham’s pair, and her character as Tehsildar has its own conflicts and drama. It wouldn’t be a run-of-the-mill role and audience will definitely like it "  The shoot is slated for March 2021 and will be wrapping up in a short span. The film is set to hit the screens on January 14th.  The clash will be with Vijay's Master directed by Lokesk Kanagaraj, which will release a day earlier, on January 13th.   Simbu himself confirmed the news to elated fans, on his social media pages,  "With blessings of almighty #Eeswaran coming to screens worldwide this January 14th.
