Film Review: Dasara ( Tamil version)

  The much awaited Nani and Keerthy Suresh starrer Dasara ( Telugu, dubbed in 4 languages) hit screens, across India, on March 31st. Directed by debutant Srikanth Odela, it stars an ensemble cast of Nani, Keerthy Suresh, Dheekshith Shetty, Shine Tom Chacko, Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar and Poorna. The film is set in Veeralapally hamlet in the backdrop of coal mines in Telangana. Dharani (Nani) and  Suri (Deekshith Shetty) are childhood friends, both in love with the same girl,  Vennela (Keerthy). But when  Dharani learns of their love he hides his feelings. The villagers lives revolves around the local Silk Bar, where caste politics is the norm. Life goes on and Suri and Keerthy get married, when suddenly events, take an ugly turn and Suri is murdered. To his horror, Dharani discovers the lust of the local politico ( Shine Tom Chacko) who has evil designs for Vennela.  Does Dharani manage to save her from his clutches? At what cost? Bala’s directorial Arun Vijay starrer “Vanangaan’ First Schedule Shoot wrapped up

The makers of Director Bala’s upcoming film ‘Vanangaan’ starring Arun Vijay in the lead role, are delighted to announce that the team has completed shooting the first schedule. The first leg of filming commenced last month in Kanyakumari, and the crew has wrapped shooting major scenes during this schedule. The next leg of shooting will start on April 17 at Thiruvannamalai.  While Arun Vijay plays the lead character, Roshini Prakash, performs the female lead character. Samuthirakani performs a pivotal role in this movie, which features popular actors from the industry as well. GV Prakash is composing the music and Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu is penning the lyrics. R.B. Gurudev is handling cinematography and Silva is choreographing action sequences for this film.

Film Review: Viduthalai Part 1

  Director Vetrimaaran's Soori, Vijay Sethupathi starrer Viduthalai Part 1 hit screens on March 31st. Kumaresan ( Soori) narrates the story in a voice over, narrating events to his mother, about his experiences on his first job as a cop. He is posted as a vehicle driver in a thick forest area atop a mountain. There is trouble from the locals who are revolting against corporates coming to mine in the area, and special police forces (headed by Chetan, Gautham Vasudev Menon), have been posted there to catch the elusive leader Perumal (Vijay Sethupathi). Soori, an honest and sincere rookie cop, runs into trouble with his superior when he helps the locals.  As his woes keep adding up, there is also a silver lining when love brews between him and Tamilarasi ( Bhavani Sre),a local girl. But soon things go awry when the villagers, including his love, are rounded up and tortured, due to suspected links with Perumal. Can a desperate Kumaresan save the day ?
