  Mega Prince Varun Tej is making a Pan-Indian debut with the film Matka being helmed by Karuna Kumar of Palasa 1978 and Sri Devi Soda Centre fame, Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala of Vyra Entertainments is producing the movie, in association with Rajani Talluri’s SRT Entertainments. A massive set is erected in Hyderabad where the shoot is presently underway. Matka is mounted on a large canvas with a high budget and top-notch technical standards. Extending birthday wishes to Varun Tej, the makers of the movie unveiled a video called Opening Bracket which is meant to show the premise of Matka. It opens with the protagonist playing music on a gramophone. It then shows characters in two different timelines.
