Boney Kapoor Clairifies on Covid scare

By Rinku Gupta The Ajith Kumar  starrer Valimai's producer Boney Kapoor has issued a statement regarding the covid scare at his residence in Mumbai.           Boney Kapoor with daughters Janhvi                and Khushi   According to Kapoor's press statement, the domestic help at his  Green Acres, Lokhandwala Complex residence,  Charan Sahu (aged 23 years )  tested positive ofor Corona virus. When  Sahu was found to be unwell, Kapoor  sent him for tests and then kept him in isolation. After receiving the test report the building Society authorities were informed, who in turn informed  the Brihan Mumbai Corporation ( BMC).  Immediately the BMC and state government authorities   started the process of getting him into a quarantine center. Are direct digital releases on OTT streaming platforms, emerging as the new norm, given the global uncertainty around the opening of theatres as a fallout of the pandemic? In the   Telugu industry,    Amrutharamam  a film with newbies,  directed by debutant  Surendar Kontaddi  which  had been ready for release, decided not to wait indefinitely, and opted for a direct digital release  on Zee 5 on April 29 due to the uncertain  lockdown situation. In the Tamil industry, actor -producer, Suriya set the ball rolling in this direction. Suriya announced that his 2D Entertainments', Jyotika starrer Ponmaghal Vandhal would stream directly on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video , bypassing the theatrical route, given the uncertainity of a release date due to the lockdown....

Vijay Deverakonda sets up fund for Covid Relief work

A first generation actor, who has made it big as a star,  he has used his platform  time and again for  philanthrophic activities as well. Now, during the tough days of the corona pandemic lockdown,  Deverakonda has set up a Middle Class Fund ( MCF) as part of The Deverakonda Foundation ( TDF) which he had started last year. He explains on the Foundation website,  "We’ve set up a dedicated fund with an aim to provide relief to affected middle-class families during the COVID crisis. The fund will help affected families buy basic groceries and essential food items. We're currently able to provide relief only in AP and Telangana. M Sasikumar on roads, for Stay Home Awareness drive during Lockdown

By Rinku Gupta Director, actor M Sasikumar has used his time during the Lockdown, to create awareness on the need to  Stay Home during the corona pandemic. The actor has collaborated with the Madurai police and standing shoulder to shoulder with them on the busy junctions on the city roads, has been addressing the public and requesting them not to step out unnecessarily,  unless its for important essentials. He is also part of an awareness video by the cops, where he speaks about the difficulties faced by cops and refers to the women police as well, who are braving odds, and risking their own health during the corona scare, to ensure people stay indoors in the face of the pandemic. A laudable effort indeed.

Raghava Lawrence to donate 3 Crores for Corona Pandemic relief work

Says Lawrence, " I want to share a happy news with you all. One of my next projects is my Thailavar’s movie Chandramuki 2.  I’m so lucky to act in this project with Thalaivar’s permission and blessings, which is directed by P. Vasu sir and produced by my lucky producer Sun Pictures' Kalanithi Maran sir. With the advance I get from it, I humbly pledge to contribute 3 crores for Coronavirus relief fund. 50 lakhs to the PM - CARES fund, 50 Lakhs to CM relief Fund (Tamil Nadu) , 50 lakhs for Fefsi union.  I want to extend my special contribution of 50 lakhs for my dancer’s union and 25 lakhs for my physically disabled boys and 75 lakhs for daily labour’s and for people from my birth place Royapuram, desiyanagar. Ramayana inspires Ganesh Venkatram

While everyone has been using their time at home in different ways,  Ganesh has used it to pen his thoughts after watching the revived Ramayana TV show and drawn life lessons from it, especially keeping the current situation off the corona pandemic and subsequent lockdown in mind.
