Movie Review : Pechi

Five youngsters enter a forest for an adventure trek with their local guide Mari (Bala Saravanan). There they disregard the guide's advice and wander into prohibited areas which unleashes the spirit of Pechi. Who is she? What happens to the group of trekkers? The cinematography of the movie with its color palette bringing out the beauty and mystery of the jungle and mountain areas the film is shot in. The Sound department too deserves kudos in the way the sound is tempered down in tone and tenor giving a Hollywoodian, classy feel and adding to the realism of the genre. Many other films these days especiallg in this genre, with thier high decibel dialogues and over the top BGM sounds, could take a leaf out off this book. The art department too, impresses in the design of the horror elements and together with the camera team, have added to the technical slickness of the film. The backstory of Pechi is well detailed and narrated for lovers of the genre. ...
