Film Review : Kondraal Paavam

By Rinku Gupta The Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Santhosh Prathap starrer, Kondraal Paavam , directed by Dayal Padmanabhan, produced by Einfach Studios, hits theatres on March 10th. The film is a remake of a Kannada hit and based on a literary work. The crime thriller, in a period setting of the 80's, is about the happenings within a family in a rural , isolated heartland, which take place in one night. Mallika ( Varalaxmi) lives with her parents (Charle, Eswari Rao) who are deep in debt, one of the reasons why they have not been able to marry her off. A bleak future looms large with the moneylender lusting after her. Into this scenario walks in a handsome stranger Arjunan (Santhosh Prathap) who seeks shelter for a night. Mallika first makes a pass at him which he rejects, which vexes her no end.
