Movie Review: Viduthalai part 2

The much awaited sequel of Vetrimaaran's film, hit the big screens on December 20th. The story this time focuses on the journey of Perumal ( Vijay Sethupathi) aka Vaathiyar, whom Kumaresan, ( Soori) a young cop, had heard about and briefly met in the original. The major portions are narrations by Perumal, who reveals portions of his life , struggle and the revolution that he and his people carried out, guided by leaders (Kishore), for the rights of the mill workers and common village folk. As the story unfolds, we come across his meeting with his lady love ( Manju Warrier), who later becomes his life partner. As the batch of cops struggle to escort him via the thick forests in the hills , many Screven secrets unfold. What happens to Perumal? How does Kumaresan react? The film is high on drama and suspense and the trip through the forests is full of suprises, enough to keep the viewer engaged and invested in what's going on. Chetan as the vile cop is up to no good...
