The rural drama is a sibling story about Mathangi ( Jyoktika) and her brother Vairavan ( Sasikumar). The brother-sister duo's  love for each other is  legendary in the village.  But when Mathangi's husband Sargunam ( Samuthirakani) falls out with her brother, blaming him for a tragedy that befalls their family,  the siblings can no longer talk  to each other even after a 15 year gap.  But a series of events unfold, bringing matters to a head. Actor Suriya's 2D Entertainment  latest production Soorarai Pottru was globally acclaimed. Now, their next prestigious project is titled Viruman and will be produced by Suriya and Jyotika with  Karthi in lead.  For Karthi,after Paruthiveeran, it was Komban, a film that spoke of family values and bondings that was embraced by the audience across the state. Actor Nitin Sathyaa's second film as producer, Lock Up, which has been garnering a lot of attention ever since its  thrilling teaser released, is now all set to release on ZEE5, on August 14. For Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and wife Kiki Vijay , the period has led to the formation of their own You Tube channel called 'With Love Shanthnu Kiki'. What's more, the duo made  their first short film and  uploaded it, called Konjam Corona, Naraya Kadhal, aka  KoCoNaKa,  which went on to become a huge hit. Currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, it's the first Tamil film to release directly, (sans a theatrical release) on OTT, during the lockdown. Jyotika plays Venba, a lawyer, who along with her mentor Pethuraj( K Bhagyaraj, aptly cast) fights for the rights of  Jyothi, wrongly accused and branded a child lifter and killed  for crimes she did not commit. Venba, who is fighting her first case,  is up against a powerful politico ( Thiagarajan, who nails it) and his lawyer ( Parthiepan in a convincing performance). Moreover, more than 15 years has passed since the crime, making evidence difficult to procure   Venba has to overcome all these obstacles to prove the innocence of Jothi. Does she succeed? In Kollywood Suriya announced his Ponmagal Vandhal would release on Amazon Prime on May 29 while Karthik Subbaraj's production Penguin, with Keerthy Suresh, will release on June 19.
