Movie Review: Jolly O Gymkhana

 Director Shakthi Chidambaram returns with a comedy with a large ensemble cast with Prabhu Deva , Abhirami , Yogi Babu, Madonna Sebastien , Chaams, Robot  Shankar, YG Mahendran and more.  The story revolves around a mother Chellamma (Abhirami) who runs a catering business with her 3 daughters and her father ( YG Mahendra). But in an alteraction with a local politico , the grandfather lands up in hospital and the family finds that they have have to arrange for 25 lakhs for his hospital care. As they try to arrange money somehow, they land up with a dead body of a lawyer Pookundran ( Prabhu Deva) instead. From then on their problems keep on increasing. Not only cops but even goons are trying to find the lawyer. The ladies have not only a corpse on their hands but a lot more to contend with.  What happens next? Movie Review: Emakku Thozhil Romance

 Umashankar ( Ashok Selvan ) an assistant film director, falls in love with a nurse Leo (Avantika Mishra). But due to a series of misunderstandings, she believes he is cheating on her.  All his attempts to explain are in vain. Things take a turn when Uma's mother (Urvashi) falls ill and is admitted in the same hospital where Leo works.  What happens next? Does Umashankar succeed in winning Leo over or do things get more complicated? Though parts of the film seem a tad dated, the comedy works for the major part, with  situational comedy scenes. Urvashi as usual is brilliant while Bagvathy or Bugs does a good job with a brief appearance. Badava Gopi too impresses. Ashok Selvan adds to the humor quotient with his histronics while Avantika Mishra does what's required  There is a romantic song that is aesthetically shot. The visuals seem extra colorful in places which gives a dated feel at times. The second half however is where the the movie picks up the pace with c...
