2022 marks the year of the South. The Kannada Film Industry has come out as a powerful force to reckon with in the past 10 months. From KGF 2 to Charlie 777 and Vikrant Rona to the most recent, Kantara, it has been one blockbuster hit after another. In 2022 itself, Kannada films have cemented themselves as the largest industry in India as their joint collections of 5 films surpasses, 1851 Crores! KVN Productions has been at the forefront of the industry with back to back hit projects. Their 4th project was announced in a grand way in bangalore.  For the first time ever, a Pan Indian movie, KD-The Devil, that was conceptualised in Karnataka, was unveiled amidst the actors, producer, and director of the project. The event took place in Orion Mall, Bengaluru and was attended by stalwarts from Bollywood and the Kannada Film Industry. Film Review: Prince

 Sivakarthikeyan's Diwali release, Prince, directed by Jathi Ratnalu fame Anudeep K V, hit theatres on Oct 21st. Sivakarthikeyan plays a village teacher (Anbu) who falls in love with Jessica, a British teacher  (Maria) who joins the school. Her father is opposed to their love as she wants to sell his land and go back to England. Our hero's father is also opposed to it since he bears a deep-rooted hate for the British rulers who insulted his grandfather. In the midst of all this, is a wicked land shark (Premgi) who grabs the Britisher's land and instigates villagers against the lovers trying to force them apart for his own gains. Do the lovers ever unite in the face of so much opposition all around? The film is a comedy of the absurd, with  situations and dialogues aimed to make you take a step back from reality and take the unique characters for what they are.  The movie succeeds in entertaining in parts  thanks to Sivakarthikeyan's charm and natural penchan

Film Review : Sardar

Prince Pictures' Karthi starrer  Diwali release, Sardar directed by PS Mithran, released in theatres  on 21st October. The story revolves around Vijay Prakash   (Karthi) a cop whose father ( Sardar aka Karthi in a dual role) was branded a traitor. Vijayprakash comes across an activist  (Laila in a comeback) who gets killed because of her  shocking revelations  about what she calls the future water mafia and the poisonous spread of diseases due to bottling of water in plastic bottles.  As he delves into the case, Vijayprakash uncovers a web of shocking truths and secrets that lead him to his father, who is still alive.  What is the real backstory of the super spy Sardar? And who are the people who want him dead, and why?  Does Vijayprakash finally  get to reunite with his father?  The film belongs to Karthi all the way.  As  Sardar, he is simply superb, especially in the old get up.
