Movie Review: Park
Mithra ( Taman Kumar) is a happy go lucky youth who falls for a girl Yaazhini ( Swetha Dorathy) he meets when he wins a free bike. He happens to meet her in several places and subsequently even works in the same mobile shop selling dish antenna equipment. Soon their romance flourishes and their parents agree to their engagement.
One day, the duo are chased into a local park when a group of goons chase Yazhini. Unknown to them, inside the park, the duo are posessed by spirits and with that power, together they manage to beat up the goons chasing them.
Once home, their strange behaviour troubles their parents. They take them to various holy men but are unable to find a solution.
What happens next? What has happened to the couple ? Do they find a solution?
The film is a horror story with a difference. The first part is light hearted and romantic with pleasant visuals and humor filled anecdotes. The chemistry between the lead pair is well brought out and the comedy scenes between Taman Kumar and Black Pandi keep the mood light.
The screenplay is well paced out as it proceeds into the second half where the problems unfold and a solution is sought.
The actors do a neat job with Taman Kumar back again after the recent Oru Nodi. Swetha Dorathy fits the part. Kannada actress Neema Ray has a brief but significant role.
However, the romantic portions do go on a tad too long before getting into the main story. The CG portions in few places could have been better.
Watch for a twist in the climax. Mixed with romance and humor and good performances, a neat horror entertainer for fans of the genre.
