Vijay Deverakonda sets up fund for Covid Relief work

Tollywood heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda seems to have his heart in the right place. A first generation actor, who has made it big as a star, he has used his platform time and again for philanthrophic activities as well.
Now, during the tough days of the corona pandemic lockdown, Deverakonda has set up a Middle Class Fund ( MCF) as part of The Deverakonda Foundation ( TDF) which he had started last year.
He explains on the Foundation website, "We’ve set up a dedicated fund with an aim to provide relief to affected middle-class families during the COVID crisis. The fund will help affected families buy basic groceries and essential food items.
We're currently able to provide relief only in AP and Telangana. Update on relief in other states will be announced shortly"

Step 2: Fill the form fields to the best of your knowledge
Step 3: Our Volunteer team will call you, understand your requirements, and complete the verification process. Keep your Aadhar card (or any other government-issued ID) ready
Step 4: You visit your nearest Kirana store, buy the essentials and ration you need, and our volunteers will transfer the amount to the store directly. "
But there are conditions in place .
The maximum allocated amount per request is 1000 INR
Only one fund request can be made from one household.
Only ration and essentials listed in the list
below can be purchased with this fund. "
The actor's The Deverakonda Foundation, conceptualized by him in April 2019, aims at utilizing the youth force for the betterment and development of the country. And to fulfill this dream, in the next few years, through this organization, he will be supporting in training and employment, around 1,00,000 underprivileged, meritorious, and deserving youth in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The actor has announced an allocation of Rs 1.3 crores to help as many people as possible. The site also details the donations recieved from the public as well as Deverakonda's personal contribution, apart from the expenditure and aid rendered.
The dual moves towards employment opportunities for youth and the MCF both seem reflect how he is strongly tethered to his own middle class roots,which he hasnt forgotten despite his meteoric rise, and remembering his own days as a struggler, before he started earning.
Social media is already reflecting the positive response from families helped via the MCF. The actor seems to have his priorities in place, helped by an able team, running things in a well thought out and streamlined manner.
Deverakonda who is stepping into Bollywood with a Karan Johar- Puri Jagannadh- Charmee multilingual production co- starring Ananya Pandey , is the World Famous Lover and Arjun Reddy on screen. But to fans the Rowdy actor seems to be a Dear Comrade!
