The story is set in the early part of the 20th century. Jeevan plays a dual role,as an upright officer, Manickavel  and also the role of his son, Saravanan.

Manickavel is posted in a small village which has a huge abandoned castle. Legend has it that a huge snake guards it for the protection of the treasure of its queen Mangamma Devi (Mallika Sherawat) and who ever enters the palace gets killed in mysterious ways.

When Manickavel is given the task of finding out the truth, his son Saravanan fearing for his dad's life, imprisons him in his house, and sets out to find the truth himself.

What happens when he enters the mysterious palace? Does he discover the ancient secrets it holds? What is the actual truth? Does he survive?

Kudos to the director for choosing a diffferent kind of story and setting and delivering an engaging watch.

The art  and costume department deserve special mention for their work which takes us back into the set period of the film. The vfx which has a major role to play in the fantasy adventure film, has done fairly well, giving us a feel of impending doom.

Parts of the film seem to have been shot in a grand palace and these portions add value  to the cinematic exeperience overall.

Right from the word go, the story sets off and there is never a dull moment. The screenplay wastes no time in fripperies and the story keeps unravelling in layers, keeping the viewer fully engaged right till the end. Loose ends are also tied up efficiently.

The bgm is apt andthe camerwork gives a rich visual experience.

The mainstay of the film are the performances of the cast. Jeevan has done a superb job and shows due variance in body language and expressions between father and son. A good performer, Jeevan should  do more films.

Mallika Sherawat has a cameo apperarance but looks regal and effective as the queen.

The rest of the cast too has been well chosen and contribute commendably to the story.

Perhaps a bit more work on the vfx budget would have helped the film further.

Overall, a gripping fantasy adventure with good performance and an interesting storyline with a fast paced screenplay.
