by Rinku Gupta As per news reports, Superstar Rajinikanth is currently in the Uttar Pradesh capital of Lucknow for the shoot of his film Thalaivar165 now titled, Petta. The superstar arrived in the city of Nawabs on Friday along with the crew, to a rousing  welcome by fans at the airport. A special crowd control arrangement was necessiated due to the tizzy created by his presence. The first look motion poster was revealed on friday, and is already creating a huge buzz. The Sun Pictures film directed by Karthik Subbaraj, has already been shot earlier in Dehradun and Chennai. The cast includes Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vijay Sethupathy. The shoot in Lucknow is touted to commence at the Rumi Gate as early as 6 am on saturday morning. Later, as per reports, the unit will move to the parts of the old city for the shoot.  

The film revolves around 4 young boys, who have been in love but turned soup boys. When they meet by chance, 3 of them decide to undergo a road trip to re -unite the 4th youngster with the love of his life. Narrating their tales of love on a road journey with power star Srinivasan, is how the story unfolds. The cliched romance scenes dont hold your attention though youth may relate to some of  the anecdotes in few instances. The usual song and dance routine doesnt bring anything new to the film. However, there are moments of humor within the romance, which lift the film and show the director's penchant for comedy.  The young actors play thier parts sincerely, bringing credibility to their roles. Directed by A Kesavan the film stars Poovarasan, Anupama, VickyAdityan, Sathya, Sabari, Nivisha, Vijay Karthick and others. Yogi Babu makes a brief appearance. 

Thodra is touted to be a film based on honour killings and the ills of the deep rooted caste system. The story revolves around characters of actors Prithvi Rajan and  Veena Nandakumar. The latter belongs to a rich, well -connected politico family in the village for whom caste and honour are supreme. So when she falls for the hero who is from a different   social strata, and elopes with him, the family is shattered. While the father dies, her brother is now hell bent on settling scores and getting his sister back. Does he succeed forms the rest of the story. Though the premise is seen many a time on screen, there are small moments that speak well for the film. Radha Mohan's next release  is V Creations' Kalaipuli Thanu's 60 Vayudu Maaniram. The film which releases on 31st August is the remake of a award winning Kannada film. Sentiment, drama and action in a package is what director R Rahesh had tried to give us, quite successfully. When the lead actor Dhruv, is shown snatching chains for a living after winning the attention of and entry  into  a dangerous gang of chain snatchers, there is ample amount of curiosity generated.  And the film keeps up the pace, capitalising on the director's good research on how such gangs operate, who is behind  them and how the public become inadvertant victims. To say more would give way to spoilers. This part of the film moves fast with some risky stunts performed well by Dhruva and the cast of villains.
