Movie Review: Sotta Sotta Nanaiyathu

Raja ( Nishanth Russo ) is a rich young man of marriageable age. But his parents find it impossible to find a bride for him, as all the girls reject him because he is balding. Even his friends keep body shaming him jokingly. Pushed to the edge, Raja almost gives up on getting married, when luck throws him a boon in the form of a young girl ( Shaalini ) who loves him for who he is. But on the eve of his wedding, Raja discovers a secret about his bride -to -be, which shatters him. What does Raja do next? Does he ever find love and acceptance for who he is? The film, a comedy, attempts to present the plight of people who are body shamed for no fault of theirs and who undergo trauma as a result. Though the aim of the film seems noble and it does drive home the messages it seeks to impart, somewhere along the way, it begins to get repetitive.
