The film with Karthi and ( Vijay Deverakonda's    Dear Comrade fame)   Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, is called Sulthan. The film is being shot in Chennai, Dindigul and its surrounding areas. A rumour spread that the film is based on Tipu Sultan and his life.  So, as the film was nearing completion, protestors landed up on location at Malaikottai, near Dindugal and tried to  disrupt the shoot on 24 September. As a result, the producers have strongly refuted such theories in a detailed  statement stressing that  the movie is tilted Suthan but has nothing to do with the life of Tipu Sultan. The production house felt deeply concerned about and condemned the current trend of  people taking offence on several issues, often for personal gains, and  thereby curbing  the freedom of filmmakers.

He has been shooting for Irudhi Suttru director Sudha Kongara 's Soorarai Pottru. Now the latest update is that the shoot of Sudha's film has been wrapped up. The music is by GV Prakash and the film is produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment. by Rinku Gupta  Super Duper directed by AK, starring Dhuruva and Indhuja revolves around a case of mistaken kidnapping by the hero and his partner in crime  ( Shah Ra ) who make a fast buck out of nefarious activities. This act lands them in the middle of a murder, drug peddling and an illicit affair. How they sort out thier problems forms the story. The movie is supposedly a comedy but with action, drama , intrigue and revenge thrown in, confusing the viewer. Hi tension scenes are interspersed with so called witty one liners which raise laughs here and there. A talented actor like Indhuja is mostly wasted though we get to see her glam avatar with heavy make-up which she doesnt seem comfy with. Dhuruva is hero material with his height and body build  but let down with a weak story line perhaps doesnt get to explore acting chops. Shah Ra's comedy isnt much to go by. The story revolves around a man Masilamani ( Parthiban) who is arrested for a murder and is being interrogated by 2 cops ( and a psychologist later).  As the film proceeds, skeletons come pouring out of the cupboard one by one. A tale of pathos, heartbreak, lust,  tragedy, revenge, regret and  betrayal  emerges,  with several  twists along the way. If the prospect of a one man show on screen is daunting to watch,  Parthiban demolishes any such notions with his superb act. Titled World Famous Lover,  the Creative Commercials production is directed  by Kranthi Madhav. Raashi Khanna , Aishwarya Rajesh , Catherine Teresa and Izabella Leite are Deverakonda's heroines in the film. by Rinku Gupta The shooting of Stonebench Films'  fourth film tentatively titled  Production No.4, starring the Aishwarya Rajesh , written and directed by filmmaker Rathindran R Prasad, has begun today in the Nilgiris. Looks like the production house is on a roll. Just a few days ago they had announced Production No 3 with Keerthy Suresh, the shoot being in Kodaikanal. This mystery horror thriller is presented by  filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam. The film is co-produced by Kal Raman, S.Somasegar and Kalyan Subramanian. The film's team of technicians includes cinematography by Italian cinematographer Roberto Zazzara, music by Prithvi Chandrasekar, editing by Anand Geraldin, art direction by Mohan, costume design by Jayalaxmi Sundaresan and sound design by Thomas Kurian. The shooting is set to proceed at a rapid pace and the film will be ready to hit the screens early next year. 

by Rinku Gupta Lady Superstar's  next film aka Nayanthara65  has got a power packed title. The film has been named  Netrikann and the shooting has started with a pooja. Netrikann was the title of K Balachander's 1981 debut production of his Kavithalaya Films banner with Rajinikanth in the lead in a dual role. The film was directed by SP Muthuraman. The poster of Netrikann released on social media has the title written in braille, an interesting pointer to the content and a link to the title perhaps. The Producer is none other than Nayan's beau  VigneshShivN who will be producing under the Rowdy Pictures banner. Interestingly its not Vignesh but Mani Ratnam's former assistant director  Milind Rau ( who directed David earlier) who will direct Nayan. The music is by G Girishh while the editor is Kishor. Costumes are by Dinesh.
