Movie Review: Thanal

Director Ravindra Madhav's Thanal revolves around a young cop recruit ( Atharvaa Murali) on his first day, who along with his 3 colleagues, stumbles upon a strange area in the city, where a group of powerful gang of bank robbers led by Ashwin Kakumanu, who actually have even more nefarious plans to cause murder and mayhem. As the plot unravels, the four recruits find themselves outnumbered and helpless. Do they manage to save the public and their fellow cops from impending doom? Who are the villains and why are they on a revenge spree? Atharvaa as the dynamic and quick thinking cop delivers a noteworthy performance. Ashwin Kakumanu has a meaty role which he delivers with a certain gravitas, his eyes reflecting the inner angst and steely grit. The duo both excel in the action blocks, which are superbly chorepgraphed all through. The camerawork is fantastic, capturing the goings on in the dimly lit slum quarter while the set design deserves mention. The well render...
