Movie Review: Veera Vanakkam

The film, mainly a flashback, narrates the life of P Krishna Pillai ( Samuthirakani) a revolutionary communist leader who fights against the injustice in society and the rights of poor labours. He is even jailed for his activities, during the early 1940s. The story of his life and efforts in spreading his idealogy and helping poor people against the atrocities of a powerful jamindar are narrated by an old lady, who in the flashback portions was amongst the families helped by Pillai and his comrade Rairu Nambiar. This inspiring tale is narrated on the request of Mahendran ( Bharath) to make oppressed people on the present understand their own prowess to claim their rights in society. The film with its solid cast and good production values, gives a realistic peek into past incidents that shaped society.
