Movie Review : Paruthi
Siva, a young orphan schoolboy living with his grandmother is friends with his classmate Madhi, girl from a well to do family. Their teenage affection is opposed strongly by Madhi's grandmother who is a staunch casteist. But the kids continue to be friends. A parallel story is about a pair of lovers. The father of the upper caste boy is a vengeful , ruthless man who poisons his own son and wreaks havoc on his lover, so that the duo never marry. One day, Siva discovers that his mother whom he yearns for, is actually alive and is none other than Kaniamma ( Sonia Agarwal) a woman ostracised by society, who lives a tough life working in harsh conditions as village labourer. What is her story? Why did she abandon her son and take to this life? Does Siva unite with his mother?
