Murugan ( Yogi Babu) is married to Deivayani ( Raichal Rabecca) and they have a son. The woe of Murugan's life is that he considers himself unlucky, as nothing good ever happens to him.
But life changes completely when he wins a car one day as a prize. Slowly but surely his lot rises in life and he starts earning both money and respect.
But due to a series of events, Murugan comes into conflict with a hot-headed cop, Sivakumar ( Veera). His woes multiply when he also loses the much loved car which had made him feel a lucky man.
But with the cop hot on his heels as a result of theie fallout, will Murugan manage to find his car and save himself from the wrath of the angry cop?
Its always a delight to see Yogi Babu on screen and in Lucky Man, we get to see the sentimental and emotional side of him as well, laced with his wit, making it a double whammy. The actor brings to life the struggles and angst of a character dealing with feeling unlucky in life.
Raichal, the subtle performer is well cast as his wife while Veera does what's required for his role. Amit Bhargav does a good job of a character with shades.
The visuals are neat and the music is a pillar of support.
The suspense is well maintained.
On the flip side, some scenes with Veera seem confusing while their bickering gets repetitive in a few places, where the lag sets in.
One wishes almost that the story had been more about Murugun and his struggles, without the cop angle to distract.
Overall, with Yogi Babu's solid presence and a good supporting cast along with a different storyline, Lucky Man seems like a feel good family entertainer.
