Movie Review: Makkal Thalaiva
The film, a political satire, revolves around political parties and their attempts at politicising issues for their gain, to retain power and to keep fooling the public, in order to feed their own interests. How a group of rivals rally against each other and keep their pockets filled and power with them, forms the story. The major characters like Radha Ravi, Ravi Mariya and Ganja Karuppu keep the proceedings light and interesting. One can see references to various incidents over time from past to present, which keep the viewers guessing which party the makers maybe referring to. The first half is a tad slow and meanders on , laced with innane comedy that doesnt land. But the film picks up the pace in the second half when situations grab your attention. The twists, from time to time, help in keeping the suspense. All the actors do a good job and the ensemble cast carries the film well.
