 POINT

Rj Balaji and Kishen Das play childhood friends living in a tiny village. From childhood, Balaji aspires to be a hairstylist, being inspired by the local barber Chacha ( Lal Jose). To his credit, he is deeply talented and believes strongly in his dream.

But when he grows up and moves to Chennai to fulfil his dream, he finds the going is not so easy and tougher than he imagined.

Many an obstacle, from finance, rivalry to bad luck and more, come in his way making him attempt suicide.

Does he achieve his dream? If so, how?

The movie is  a roller coaster fun ride from start to finish. Rj Balaji leaves his typical witty stamp in every scene,  aided in several parts by Sathyaraj's superb act that will get the funny bone tickled.

The childhood  village scenes , though a tad lengthy, are visually breathtaking and add a fair bit of entertainment and set the foundation of the story.

Meenakshi Choudhary as Balaji's wife does a neat, understated act while Kishen Das makes  a good debut.

If the first half is comedy, the second half shifts gears adding emotions to the mix, along with a social cause and several messages, which somehow all manage to keep you invested and even moved in certain scenes.

Watch out for a surprise cameo by a leading actor.

The visuals are good, with rich production values, the bgm works well. Sathyaraj's scenes  linger  long after, while Balaji has toned down the banter and added an emotional quotient and gravitas to his performance, that works well for the chosen theme.

Overall, a clean entertainer for family audiences from director Gokul and Vels Films International.
