Movie Review: Sing Geetham

 Sing Geetam is a fantasy drama which transports you to a magical world and leaves you emotional with a beautiful, topical message. When Prathap ( Ayaan) goes looking for the gold  mineshe inherits,after his father's death, he steps into the clutches of a greedy tycoon and his daughter Renu ( Shalini) who want to exploit the labour and immense hidden potential of the gold mines. But this plan does not pay off and instead lands them into deep trouble in a most unexpected way, when the very gold they seek traps them and makes them learn an invaluable  life lesson.  What happens to them all ?  Saravanan ( Arjun Das) works at the Electricity Board. Being in heavy debt he teams up with a friend, and starts a con to gain quick money in order to be worthy of the rich girl he is going to marry. Mithra ( Anna Ben ) after being conned, starts  running  a  similar scam, making money in the real estate business.  Jackie ( Yogi Babu) and his mother (Vadivukkarasi) are by a,series of circumstances, pushed into scamming people to donate to their trust, due to medical reasons. The lives of all these people converge at one point and the act further lands them into trouble. Though they escape impending doom, fate soon catches up with them.  Do they escape punishment? Or does this only lead to further cons to save their skins? The film is an engaging watch with one scam after another interspersed with cons of different sorts which keep you invested with many suspense -filled nail-biting moments as the characters get through by the skin of their teeth.  Chezhiyan (Prajin) comes across an intriguing case when a young girl Karthika ( Ivana Varun) is the victim of strange circumstances.  Whenever her wedding is fixed, the prospective groom dies in strange circumstances. Due to this,  she is convinced of her bad luck and is afraid to marry or fall in love.  As Chezhiyan attempts to solve this case, he falls, for her and the duo decide to marry. What happens to him? Is his life in danger? Who is the killer behind the deaths? What is the deadly secret he uncovers? The film is an intriguing psycological investigative thriller with ample suspense all through right till the end,  which works well for the film. A young man, Shiva (Sananth) is a chef at  his friend's restaurant in Jaipur. There he meets Sadhana ( Emaya T) and soon the duo develop feelings fpr each other.  Despite initial hiccups, the duo get engaged with the blessings of their parents. But, when Sathya has an accident his past catches up with him which brings back his college love Sahithya ( Madonna Sebastian) into his life.  What happens to Sathya ? What is the backstory of Sathya and Sahithya? Does Sadhna ever get her love back ? The story has a solid cast which do their best to carry the film through in an engaging manner. Sananth shines,as Shiva, caught in a tough spot between past and present. He looks good with both heroines and makes a smooth transition into hero.
