 Surya ( Arvind Viswanathan) a young student from the city, is taken by his father to his native village where he meets Pandi ( Rajesh). Pandi's mom, a widow is the schoolmate of Surya's father.  Pandi doesnt like studies unlike Surya and has a difficult relationship with his mother, unlike Surya who is studious and comes from a loving family. But the duo become good friends.
