Movie review : Mirai
Director Karthik Ghattamaneni 's much awaited Superhero film Mirai, from Tollywood, hit theatres on September 12th in several languages.
Mahabir Nama ( Manchu Manoj) gets hold of 8 of the books and is looking hard for the 9th. Due to a series of circumstances,it is a young man, Vedha (Teja Sajja) finds himself in the middle of things and upon whom it falls upon to stop Mahabir from finding the 9th book, and thus saving the world.
The film is a spectacular feast of grand visuals and superb vfx that lend conviction to the story and draw you into the fantasy world on screen.
Teja Sajja is perfectly cast as Vedhs, displaying a certain innocence and charm while transforming with magical ease into action mode when necessary.
Manchu Manoj delivers a brilliant act as the villain and the face off scenes between the duo are powerful, gripping and superbly choreographed.
Ritika Nayak, Sriya Saran ( as Vedha's mother), Jagapathu Babu and Jayaram deliver impressive performance and elevate the film with their presence.
The superb Bgm by Gowra Hari is alternately subtle and powerful in just the right measure.
The concept of the mirai is well integratedin a credible manner in the the story. The film jumps straight into the story, which is a plus. The breathtaking live location shoots add immensely to the cinematic experience. There are several scenes throughout which serve as highpoints, adding to the wonder and fantasy elements.
In a wonderful overlapping of the ancient and the modem, Mirai is a superlative fantasy adventure drawing on Indian heritage , culture and spirituality, to deliver a spectacular cinematic experience.
