Movie Review: Avatar Fire and Ash
Avatar Fire and Ash, the third in the series hinges around Jake Sully and Neytiri as they battle their inner demons and the chaos unfolding around them. The duo and their family encounter a ferocious and ruthless Varang, of the fire-worshipping Ash people, the Mangwan clan, even as the war with the ruthless and greedy RDA escalates, forcing them headlong into a battle for survival, forging new relationships and overcoming emotional and physical barriers in their journey. What happens to them and their people and family?
The film delves deeper into themes like getting over hatred ( Neytiri and Spider), discovering deeper realms of spirituality (Kiri)how far one would go for vengeance and what scarifices on would entail in this journey.
As usual James Camerons canvas is humumgous and the visuals dont fail in drawing gasps of awe and wonderment as the story proceeds over not only land but also in the air and across magical forests.
Varang catches the eye with her ruthless, vicious streak keeping the adrenaline pumping as do the various adventure and battles across land and sea and air.
Kirin and Spider's evolution and the climax scenes are among the many of those to watch out for.
On the flip side, the beginning portions, have too many long dialogues amongst characters and the pace is relatively slower, which acts like a dampener to the over 3 hrs 17 min film.
Overall a grand and engaging visual spectacle, which could have done with crisper run time.
Rating 3.5/5
