Movie Review : Kiss

When Daisy (Devayani) and Marcus (Rao Ramesh ) the parents of Nelson ( Kavin) decide to divorce, it deeply affects him and he begins to lose belief in love.

One day,  a strange thing happens to him.  When he sees a couple kissing, their future, many times bleak, flashes before his eyes.  When he reveals this to his friend (RJ  Vijay), he takes him to his Dad (vtv Ganesh) who is a psychiatrist.

He discovers that all things lead to dancer (Preethi Asrani)  when she entered  his life.

What is the reason behind his visions? How is it connected to this girl? Does Nelson ever fall in love? Does he manage to get rid of the phenomena of disturbing visuals?

Debut director Sathish Krishnan has chosen an intriguing subject, different from the usual,  for which he deserves kudos. Trendy and contemporary making, good casting choices, and sound production values, all make the film a good viewing experience.

Devyani is cast in a very different role than her usual  while RJ  Vijay as Nelson's friend has also been well cast, in a lengthy role, which helps in taking the movie forward.VTV Ganesh keeps the laughs coming.

Kavin has delivered a top notch act as Nelson, displaying a quirky comic touch  all through which works well for the film. Preethi Asrani is aptly cast and fits the role to a T, as the dancer, aceinv her dance moves and bringing her ample acting chops on display. The duo make  a refeshing pair and their innocent chemistry brings credibility to their roles.

The film also has an emotional angle which leaves an impact,  while the comic angle works well too.

At times there are lags and one feels a bit of editing could have made it crisper.

But the climax scenes make up for things.

Overall,  Kiss  an engaging and entertaing fantasy rom com, makes for a good watch.
