Sri Venkateswara Creations 'Varisu' starring Thalapathy Vijay that recently released as a Pongal treat, is now running successfully in theatres. Directed by Vamshi Paidipalli, and produced by Dil Raju and Shirish, the film opened up to positive response from the audience anad critics as well, not only in Tamil but also in Telugu. The film has an ensemble cast starring Rashmika Mandanna, R Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Srikanth Meka, Shaam, Sangitha, Samyuktha Shanmugham, Yogi Babu and others. Thaman S composed the music for the film. 7 Screen Studios distributed the film. Even after 17 days in Hosur Lakshmi Devi theatre, ‘Varisu’ is running with housefull shows. The Pondicherry PVR theater is screening twice as many screens for ‘Vaarisu’ than any other film. Director Jagan Vijaya's novel effort, Asia's first split screen Tamil movie, Beginning hits theatres this week.  The unique usp of the film is that on the split screen, 2 stories,run parallely and the viewer has to concentrate on both simultaneously. The 8 part web series revolves around education of the girl child and the impediments they have to cross to even reach the 10th std in rural areas. Tamilselvi ( Abi Nakshathra ) is one such student. She lives with doting dad Thavasi ( Aruvi Madan) and strict mom ( Anumol). The village they live in is controlled by vested interests who see to it that girls who attain puberty stop their education.   When Tamilselvi reaches that stage in life,  being an avid student, she decides to keep it a secret from the village so that she can continue studying. Only her mother finds out and ends up supporting her.  But after two years the fact does not remain hidden anymore and all hell breaks loose. Does the child ever fulfil her dream to be a doctor? Pathaan meets ISI agent Rubaina (Deepika Padukona) in this journey and has a tough time figuring out if she's for or against him. Dimple Kapadia plays the tough boss who knows everything about Pathaan. In this fight to the end to save his motherland and the world,  does Pathaan succeed? What works for the film is the lavish scale of the project, with the characters moving across the world and continents in their hunt for the criminals.
