Movie review: Friday
Friday is the story revolving a set of gang rivalry, cops and how the innocent get involved in circumstances beyond their control, leading to a chain reaction of violence.
Why has he turned against his protector? What is the backstory of these people which has led to this situation?
The film has an intetesting premise about violence breeding more violence leading to war across generations. But the manner in which the screenplay runs makes things appear a rad repetitive. There are many characters running around, with various names and one doesn't get a real chance to connect to most, except a few which Mahesh for tedious viewing. The screenplay though fast-paced, needed in- depth writing to establish a connect.
The main leads have done a fine job, with convincing performances. The making is mostly in the dark which adds to the suspense factor. The action is more on the natural side, with hand to hand combat, knives and guns.
The climax comes as a surprise , one leads to more questions about what is actually right and wrong.
