Mahesh Narayanan – Mammootty – Mohanlal film “Patriot” releases Women’s Day special character posters; global release on April 29th

New character posters from “Patriot,” which is gearing up to be the biggest film in Malayalam cinema history, have been released. Marking Women’s Day, posters of the film’s major female characters were unveiled starting at 10 AM today at one-hour intervals. The posters feature Revathi, Grace Antony, Geethi Sangeetha, Sree Parvathi, Darshana Rajendran, Serin Shihab, and Nayanthara.



Along with this, a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video reel from the scene that appeared in the film’s second-look poster has also been released. The second-look poster featured Mammootty, Mohanlal, and Kunchacko Boban, showcasing Mammootty and Mohanlal in intense mass action looks. The BTS reel of this scene has further excited audiences.


Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, this multistarrer film centers on the legendary actors Mammootty and Mohanlal and will release in theaters worldwide on April 23, 2026. Along with them, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Rajeev Menon also play important roles in the film.


The film is produced by Anto Joseph and K. G. Anil Kumar under the banners Anto Joseph Film Company and Kichappu Films. Co-producers are C. R. Salim and Subhash George Manuel under the banners C. R. Salim Productions and Blue Tigers London. C. V. Sarathi and Rajesh Krishna serve as the executive producers.


Earlier, character posters of Mammootty, Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Rajeev Menon had also been released. The title teaser of the film received huge attention from audiences. The teaser hinted that the film’s highlight would be massive action sequences featuring Mammootty and Mohanlal in this spy thriller.


Post-production work, including dubbing, is currently progressing rapidly. It was also shared with audiences that Mammootty and Mohanlal have completed their dubbing, along with visuals from the dubbing studio.


The first BTS video of the film had already been released earlier. It was a making video from the Sri Lankan schedule, featuring Mammootty, Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, and Kunchacko Boban. After Take Off and Malik, director Mahesh Narayanan’s Patriot is being made with a technical quality and cinematic scale comparable to international spy thrillers, as indicated by the teaser, posters, and BTS videos.


The film is made on the largest budget ever for a Malayalam film. After more than a year of shooting across over ten schedules in different countries, the film’s shoot was completed earlier this year. Patriot now also holds the distinction of being the Malayalam film shot in the most number of countries.


The movie was filmed in various locations across India, Sri Lanka, the UK, Azerbaijan, and the UAE. Another special aspect of the film is that Mammootty and Mohanlal are coming together on screen after 18 years.


Other cast members include Revathi, Jinu Joseph, Danish Husain, Shaheen Siddique, Sanal Aman, Darshana Rajendran, Serin Shihab, and Prakash Belawadi—the noted theatre artist and director known for films like Madras Cafe and Pathaan—who plays a crucial role.


The film, which promises an unprecedented level of technical excellence for Malayalam cinema, is written by Mahesh Narayanan himself. Music is composed by trend-setting Malayalam composer Sushin Shyam, while cinematography is handled by Manush Nandan, who is known for his work in major Bollywood star films. The film is also edited by Mahesh Narayanan.

 Director Sudha Kongara's Parasakthi hit screens on 10th January. The film is based on the TN students anti Hindi imposition movement in the 1960s. The story revolves around a student, Chezhiyan (Sivakarthikeyan) who starts an agitation against Hindi imposition along with co-students, on one dark night on the railway tracks.  Sengottavan ( Vemal ) and his wife Bommi ( Shrusti Dange) live in a mountain village and are leaders of the people. Sengottavan has an enemy in the tribal leader Ganga ( Mahina Ghupta) who was once his lover at a young age, but the duo were separated due to a village feud with a statue at the centre of it all. Now,  Ganga is baying for his blood and wants to kill Sengottavan and get back the village deity as well. In the mix is a corrupt cop (John Vijay) who also wants the statue.
