Andharan team meets press

The press conference for the film 'Andharan', directed by Santhosh Ravan and produced by M. K. Sampasivam on behalf of Sri Girish Pictures, starring actor Praji as the protagonist, was held in Chennai.

'Andharan' stars Prajin, Ivana Varun, Anupama Kumar, Adhiran Padman, 'Aruvi' Bala, M.K. Sampasivam, Ramesh Babu, Arjun Dev, Priyanka Selvi, Aishwarya Kannan, VJ Raju and many others. Kishore Ramachandran has handled the cinematography and Hari SR has composed the music for the film. Sasikumar has handled the art direction while Ignatius Ashwin and Satish Kurosawa have handled the editing. This exciting crime thriller is being produced by producer M.K. Sampasivam under the banner of Sri Girish Pictures and directed by Santhosh Ravanan.

The film, which will be released in theaters worldwide from the 25th, was promoted in Chennai. Producer C. V. Kumar, actress Sandra, Bigg Boss Sabari, and 'Vickles' Vikram were present as special guests along with the film crew.

Speaking at the event, actor 'Vickles' Vikram said, "It was through Bigg Boss that the hero of the film became Prajin's friend. A new history will be created for those who participated in the Bigg Boss show, before and after. Director Santosh Ravana said, "I sent the story of this film to producer Sampasivam through an email. After reading it, he said, 'The story is good. But now I can't produce it.'" After that, six months later, he called me again and asked, 'My friend Rajendra Prasad has come. Can you tell him the story?' I told him the story and he liked it too. It was because of his support that producer Sampasivam started working on the film. After that, even when the situation became critical, he completed the work on the film and is now releasing it because of the promise he made to me. I express my heartfelt gratitude to him for this. Also, in this film, he has played the role of Shankar, the father of the heroine. He will be the hero and the villain. Thank you for that too.

I never spoke to the heroine on the set because I didn't know the Hindi she spoke. She didn't understand the English I spoke. So I had to work with an assistant who knew both Hindi and English. But her performance on screen is enjoyable.

'Andharan' means a hunter. Hunter means one who attacks from behind. We go through many things in our daily lives. But we see the seriousness of it only after some bad consequences arise through it. 'Andharan' is centered on one such thing. It is impossible to talk about it in detail now. All the fans will feel it when they watch the film.

This film is based on a case that is currently going on in the court. I have not shared any details related to this case even with the producer. I will tell you about it after the film is successful. But I can definitely say that this 'Andharan' will not be a regular film.

There is something unique about the climax of this film, similar to what was seen in films like 'War Industry', 'Ratchasan' and 'Thegiti'. This is something that fans will definitely like.

The story of this film is a thriller. But we have told it as a romance. There are a lot of romantic scenes. We have explained the reason why in the climax scene.

I told this story to producer C. V. Kumar. He was the one who suggested that we add many things to this story and also suggested that we use many actors, actresses and technicians. I would like to thank him at this time.

Producer C V Kumar said, "The producer of this film, Sampasivam, is a close friend of mine. He produced a film called 'Adavi' in 2019. He asked me to help with the release of that film. From that day till today, we have a good friendship."

After that, two years later, he produced a film called 'Manithargal'. He asked me to watch the film for commercial release. I watched the film. But it was an art film. We can send this film to an international film festival. I advised him not to release it in theaters. But he courageously released that film in theaters.

Director Santosh Ravana is very familiar to me. He worked in my office before the Corona period. After that, we were not in touch. Then one day, Sampasivam called me on the phone and told me, 'The story told by Santosh, who worked in your office, is good.' I gave him my confidence that Santosh is talented and can produce the film. After that, they asked for suggestions regarding the actors to play in the film. I also gave them.

Before releasing the first look of the film, director Santosh met me and showed it to me. At that time, the title was 'Andharan'. You had a different title for him. When I asked him why you changed it, he explained that it was the producer's choice. I immediately asked the producer why you named this film Andharan. Generally, when you give a title to a film, everyone should understand it. I told him not to keep explaining the title to everyone.

When he went to the temple with his family and cast his vote, it said 'Andaran'. My wife chose this. So he kindly told me that the title could not be changed. I immediately smiled and said okay.

I have seen this movie. It is a good movie. The director has made the movie so interesting that no one can predict the course of the story until the end.

This film will be released in theaters on June 25. If the film is good, the media and fans will celebrate. The works released by my company are a testament to this. In that sense, this film is also good. I wish it success, I wish it success,'' he said.

Producer M. K. Sampasivam said, "After Adavi and Manaan, Andharan is my third film. I would like to thank all the actors, actresses and technicians who worked on the film. When producer C V Kumar was making the film 'Soodhu Kavvum', he met me and asked if I had a good story and was producing it. I told him that I didn't have any money. Who asked for money? He asked if I was producing the film. If C V Kumar gets a good story, he will make it into a film. He is that talented. He has introduced many new faces to the Tamil film industry. If he gets the content and the right thing for a film, he will produce it. He is the reason why this film came into being. So special thanks to him.

The director told the story, and I liked it. At that time, I said that I didn't have any money. After that, I got a team. Both the films I produced had good content. Similarly, in this film too, we have told something that is needed by the society. We have presented it as a crime thriller. I hope you will watch the film in theaters and give your support.
