Movie Review : Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam

Prabhu ( Pavish), an aspiring Chef falls in love with a tycoon's ( Sarathkumar) daughter Nila ( Anikha Surendran) who is a friend of Shriya ( Rabiya Khatoon) and Prabhu's friend Ravi ( Venkatesh Menon). But as luck would have it  certain circumstances create a rift between the dup and Nila disappears from his life.

Some time later,  Prabhu meets Preethi (Priya Prakash Varrier) when they are going tbrough an arranged match, he narrates to her his love story,  and reveals how he has suddenly recieved Nila's wedding invitation.

Preethi encourages him to attend Nila's wedding and find out if they still have feelings for each other.

What happens when Prabhu along with his buddy Ravi ( Matthew Thomas) lands up in Goa for the wedding. Do the ex -lovers unite?

Trendy pleasantly conceptualised songs and visuals. The film in its entirety has a modern yet rooted feel and makes you straightaway connect with the all the lead characters.

Pavish makes a superb debut with a natural performance, good dialogue delivery and a confident act. Anikha who makes her Tamil debut as a heroine makes a good pair with Pavish, her innocent charm and solid performance shining all through. Rabiya  Ramya, Matthew Thomas and Venkatesh Menon prove their mettle with a fine act.

The veterans Sarathkumar, Saranya and Naren are well cast and their scenes are most engaging. Sarathkumar  especially stands out with  a superb makeover as the rich dad  delivering an understated yet powerful performance.

GV Prakash's scores are peppy and the camerawork of Leon Britto along with the trendy locales lend a pleasant and youthful feel to the film.  The dialogues are crisp and entertaining without sounding preachy or long drawn and the situational comedy  and wit all through keeps the smiles and laughs coming.

Overall, Dhanush's directorial Neek is a trendy, lighthearted romcom, with an engaging screenplay and interesting storyline, good music , great visuals and witty dialogues. A thoroughly engaging family entertainer which establishes a  connect with the audience.
