Quick Review: Dhanusa Raasi Neyargalae

Image
By Rinku Gupta Dhanusa Raasi Neyargalae is the debut direction of Sanjay Bharathi starring Harish Kalyan , Muniskanth, Yogi Babu, Reba Monica and Digangana Suryavanshi. The film is a rom com with Harish breezing through the lover boy role that one now associates with him. He plays a young, urban man who believes strongly in astrology ( due to an idea ingrained in childhood at the loss of his father). He thus waits for the perfect match for himself according to the prediction of astrologers, rejecting many girls in the process. Until one day he falls for a girl (fresh and appealing debutante Digangana Suryavanshi from Bollywood , who is perfectly cast) who is aspiring to go to Mars in 2024 as she loves astronomy. Does she fit into his preset notions of the perfect girl for him? Or does he change himself? Does she give up her dreams for him? Who does he finally marry? The casting is good and as a debut director Sanjay seems to have all the boxes ticked, like romance, comedy,...

Quick Review : Enai Noki Paayum Thota

Image
By Rinku Gupta Enai Noki Paayum Thota is a love story in typical Gautham Menon style, with a gangster  angle thrown in. Basically its about Raghu ( an urban stylish avatar of Dhanush , in various get -ups , in a brilliant performance) a college student who falls for a budding actress ( Megha Akash, perfectly cast with a naivete, beauty and screen presence apt for the role). But there is her mentor ( Senthil Veeraswamy) who wants her to continue acting and forget about love, who acts as the obstacle in thier path. Do the lovers unite? Added to this is the angle of a long lost brother of Raghu's called Thiru ( Sasikumar, who doesn't really fit the role of undercover cop somehow) who is in Mumbai. How the lives of Raghu, his lady love and Thiru intersect and what outcome does it have is the story. Darbuka Siva's bgm snd songs take the film to the next level. Despite the long delay in release, the film seems fresh and contemporary. Dhanush plays the various stages i...
