Suriya's Soorarai Pottru tops India Trends across 10 States!

Ever since it's release on Amazon Prime last night, director Sudha Kongara's Suriya starrer Soorarai Pottru is making waves. The Tamil original is dubbed in Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam.
The film has been on top trends in India on Twitter, moving between No. 1, 2 and 3 spots nationally in different places on India Trends ever since last night.
What is especially interesting is that the trend is across 10 states from the East, West and North and was not just a regional one. Rajsekar Pandian, producer 2 D Entertainment shares, " We continued to trend on top in India. And not just in AP and TN but across India, in Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP, Mumbai, MP, Chhattisgarh and even adding Bihar and WB to the mix along with Assam. Suffice to say, across almost all corners of India!"
It is no mean task, for a regional film to make its presence felt even in states where several different languages are spoken. And all the more so when OTT platforms are flooded with content in so many languages and from several countries leaving viewers spoilt for choice.
The makers have been doing a series of innovative promotions from past few months, right from an actual plane ride to interactions with fans and air balloons announcing the film, all in a bid to reach the maximum audiences and create a buzz.
The film is based on the life of Capt. Gopinath founder of Air Deccan. Suriya plays the lead character of Nedumaaran in an inspirational story about one man's dream to make a low cost airline. Aparna Balamurli, Urvashi, Paresh Rawal and others make up the extensive cast.
