Movie Review : Uruttu Uruttu
Chandru ( Gajesh Nagesh) is a happy go lucky lad, leading his life with his friends in a small town. Due to a series of circumstances, a rich young girl ( Rithvika Shera) who believes in showing wrong doers their place, comes into his life. The unsuspecting Chandru is drawn into her world, with tragic consequeces.
What is the reason she befriends him? What happens next?
The film which is supposedly a comedy, judging by the second half, doesnt seem sure of what exactly it is trying to get at. The climax portion comes as an utter shock. Questions like what gives anyone the right to take such drastic measures as the girl does, come to mind. In many scenes she is shown trying to seduce him. It's therefore confusing as to what her intentions were all along.
The scenes with motta Rajendran and his three wives hardly draw any laughs and seem more designed to titillate in the name of humor.
Characters come and go and the screenplay seems to meander aimlessly. The point of the film if any, seems unclear.
Gajesh has done a fine job of his role, trying to do justice to a weakly written character. The visuals of few locations make for pleasant viewing.
Overall, a rather pointless comedy trying to give a message.
