Movie Review: Exam web series

A  newly transferred DSP, Maramalli ( Aditi Balan) is kidnapped by Jhansi ( Dushara) who impersonates her and joins her unit in Thykara where she goes unrecognised.


Jhansi is in touch with Jayachandran ( Abbas) her mentor, and the duo are planning something big. Their plan is to expose a dangerous ring of scammers and syndicate who cheat the system and get rich candidates to obtain high marks and bag important beaurocratic posts by specialised  cheating methods during government exams.

But things are not easy and time is running short. What are the dangers that encounter along the way? Is the gang exposed? What happens to Maramalli? 

The web series is an edge of the seat experience but the first few episodes take their own time to get into the story gradually building up suspense and slowly revealing what the actual plot is. To this extent, Sargunam does a good job in keeping the viewer invested.

The theme of exploring the complicated scam behind exams is an interesting one and the team deserves kudos for delving into the subject that too in detail.

The cast is well chosen with Dushara and Aditi nailing their roles. Dushara is the mainstay of the film and she carries the role perfectly. She aptly aces the action blocks as well. Aditi comes into her own in the latter part of the series. 

The making is good and so is the scale of the project. The scenic setting of the hilly areas of the story makes for good visuals. Sam C S bgm is solid.

However, the series seems to take a tad too long to get into the main plot. Abbas doesnt seem to be utilised well enough for his potential. It seems,a tad unrealistic that nobody would recognise the impersonation of Maramalli amongst all the cops. However, the overall making and delivery of the series bypasses such hiccups along the way.

A gripping, suspenseful watch.

  Kali ( Kalaiyarasan) and Anasuya ( Deepa Bala) have a love marriage  and now she is pregnant. As per family custom, they travel to a remote forest temple to pray to a goddess.  After the rituals, the family returns while the couple are set to travel back on Kali's bike.
