Movie Review : Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai
In this film directed by AR Murgadoss assistant Babu Vijay, Kathir ( Jai) meets Janaki (Meenakshi Govindarajan) at a pub and falls in love and decide to get married. Both are unaware of the other's background.
When Janaki's, father, a politico who wanted her to marry another politician, comes to know this,, he is furious and tries to get her back.
In the meanwhile the young couple on their honeymoon, come under the cross hairs of a notorious baddie Chakravarthy who secretly films young couples in his resorts and sells the clips for millions.
Kathir takes it upon himself to bring down this baddie while at the same time has to battle goons sent to take him down by his father-in-law. Do the young couple survive these issues in their marriage?
The film is mounted on a solid scale with good visuals, and rich making, filmed on pleasant locations. The songs and dance numbers are peppy and make for good viewing as well.
The chemistry between Meenkashib and Jai is good and well presented on screen. Jai is fighting fitv and looks good in the songs and packs a punch in the stunts. Meenakshi too does a neat job in a role well suited for her, her poise and grace adding to her presence.
Yogi Babu as an I T guy is given dialogues to keep the laughs coming but most of them are im poor taste, with references to adultery, affairs and smattered with double meaning dialogues between characters, which don't really land.
The film seems to move too fast and in a hurry to get to the plot. But there is not much depth in the writing , which doesnt explore the thriller portions nor relationships, at length. This makes one lose interest and patience to keep track of a covoluted plot and dated narration.
A overall timepass watch with good performances, rich making, peppy music and good visuals and a cautionary social message.
