Movie Review : Heartin
A young man, Shiva (Sananth) is a chef at his friend's restaurant in Jaipur. There he meets Sadhana ( Emaya T) and soon the duo develop feelings fpr each other.
Despite initial hiccups, the duo get engaged with the blessings of their parents.
But, when Sathya has an accident his past catches up with him which brings back his college love Sahithya ( Madonna Sebastian) into his life.
What happens to Sathya ? What is the backstory of Sathya and Sahithya? Does Sadhna ever get her love back ?
The story has a solid cast which do their best to carry the film through in an engaging manner. Sananth shines,as Shiva, caught in a tough spot between past and present. He looks good with both heroines and makes a smooth transition into hero.
Madonna Sebastian looks beautiful in every frame and fits her role perfectly as an educated young lady looking after a large estate, her stately presence adding to the film.
Emaya T debuts with a neat performance as the courageous youngster, who believes in love and would go to great lengths for her loved one.
The highlight of the movie is the camerawork of Mukeswaran V who captures exotic images and vistas of Jaipur and Ooty making the scenic, breathtaking locales characters in the film.
The neat supporting cast adds to the film. Debnita Kar makes a good debut.
But what let's film down is the lack of a in depth writing of characters and a proper storyline. It's never clear why Sahitya suddenly drops Shiva. The romance between Shiva and Sadhna lacks chemistry and depth.
The film meanders in different directions and just when it sold turn emotional and explore Shiva and Sahitya's past when he lands up on her estate, the film resorts to comedy and takes a lighthearted route. A fine actor like Madonna is completely underutilised and looks lost with little to do. Even the climax could have more conclusive.
Overall, a clean family entertainer sans violence, with romance, emotions, good casting and superb visuals.
