Movie Review: Kitty
Vijay ( Ashok) confesses to killing his girlfriend Pooja ( Nisha) and a goon sent by her father to kill him. After the crime he gives himself up to the cops, confessing his crime.
But the case is not so simple, as the cops soon find out. There is more than meets the eye.
Who is Vijay? What is behind these murders?
The film builds up suspense in credible way with a good screenplay. The beginning itself holds your attention. Slowly the layers peel off one by one, keeping the viewer hooked.
To this end, the credit goes also to the actors who convey the vision of the director by a credible performance
The cast has been well chosen. A seasoned performer, actor Ashok as Vijay, excels in the layered role written for him, bringing out the nuances of the character much needed for the story. He holds the story and the suspense till the very end, and is a mainstay of the film.
The 3 heroines do a neat job and help in elevating the film with their act.
The cop, actor Yugan delivers a well honed act with the right amount of seriousness and businesslike demeanour and dialogue delivery. His upright body language and expressions build confidence in the character.
YG Mahendra adds to the film with his presence.
The songs are well shot and the locations well chosen all through.
However the screenplay creates confusion in many places. However, overlooking loopholes, when a resolution is expected at the end, the climax scenes dont deliver it with clarity. The film which started off as a neat suspense thriller and seemed to be going in a certain direction, leaves you with unanswered questions due to its narrative style.
