Movie Review : 2 k Love Story
From childhood, Moni ( Meenakshi Govindrajan) and Karthi ( Jayaveer) have been buddies sharing a thick bond. As adults they run a successful pre- wedding photo shoot studio.
But soon their platonic relationship is put to the test when the question of marriage enters the fray. Everyone is out to prove that they are in love, and the burden of proving them wrong now rests on their shoulders.
But are they really in love? Or can a man and woman share a deep friendship sans traces of love and marriage? Does their friendship stand the test of time and circumstance?
The first half of the film is all peppy and trendy with great visuals and trendy songs ny D Imman. Bala Saravanan scores with his wit and the lead pair do a neat and convincing job as friends and professionals. The light moments keep you engaged.
The drama heightens in the second half as the story shifts to a rural locale with serious questions like finding the right marriage partner to handle.
Dushyanth does a fine job as the bridegroom while Jayaprakash brings the required gravitas with his presence.
But the comedy stretches in between pepped up by the likes of Singampuli and others, keep you entertaining.
There is ample drama sprinkled all over as well. The plethora of actors do a fine job. The suspense as to the solution to the question is kept up right till the end.
On the flip side there are portions which seem stretched out an dialogues that are long and confusing at times. Though the storyline seems intetesting, the way to the finishing line could have been more crisply and clearly handled.
On the whole, the film, mounted on a grand scale, with a large group of talented actors, with its trendy look solid performances, music and bgm and pleasant visuals, makes for an engaging family entertainer
