Movie Review : LSS

Puja ( Simran) is a rich North Indian girl who falls in love with her college mate Shiva ( Aadhav) and admires his loving family, as she herself grew up motherless. But her father is totally against the match.

However one day day Puja takes Siva on a trip to Kashi to meet her mother who had eloped with her lover, abandoning Puja as a child.

But a tragedy strikes and Puja goes missing once there.

What has happened to her? How does her father react to this news? Why is Shiva blamed for her disappearance? Is she found?

The film is basically a love story,  written blending a North Indian family into the story,  perhaps for a novelty factor. The story thus gets a chance to move to Kashi for the latter half, thanks to the heroine's mother connection to the city. This perhaps is added to get a novel flavour and different location fresh feel into a love story.

The college portions are light and lively, with emotions and action appearing later. The first half establishes well the character of Puja and why she does what she does.

Simran as Puja does a fine job, getting into the skin of the girl looking for love and finding it in the family of her boyfriend. The scenes at his home with Badava Gopi and Vinodhini  evoke family sentiments thanks to the neat performances and dialogues . Aadhav Krishna does the needful and delivers a credible act.

The screenplay displays a bit of a lag in the first half but makes up for it in the ascetic half where suspense and action are on the forefront.

The Kashi visuals are grand. But the sequence of events with high melodrama in the hospital and a mish -mash of various issues and almost magical medical recoveries, take away from the seriousness of the situation and could have been better written.

Overall, a novel love tale with a social message, for family audiences.
