 Velan( Vemal) is a no good, happy go lucky chap who does no work and lives off his sister ( Devadarshini),tortures the village folk and spends his time mostly drinking, with his buddy ( Soori). Fed up with his antics the villsgers collect money and pack him off to Malaysia where he gets a job. But in a turn of events he is forcedy to return home, where he continues his old ways. But due to a manipulation, people think he has won a lottery and they make him village president. Does this responsibility bring about a change in him? Do the villagers find out the truth? The film is a jolly happy go lucky ride in the first half,  and swings into a,slightly more serious turn in the second half, when the hero turns over a  new leaf, leaving the viewer with a positive message at the end.  Arvind ( Harikishan ) an insurance executive, is happily married to a homely girl from him native village,  Poorni (Lijomol Jose). What happens next?  The film  with an interesting story and engaging screenplay, keeps you rivetted to the screen.  Lijomol displays yet again ,what a consummate performer she is in every scene she appears  in.  When a young girl ( Lovelyn), angry with her mother ( viji chandrasekhar)  leaves home and gets on a train, she meets a TT ( Yogi Babu) who narrates four stories to her.  All of them have the love and relationships,  with a women, as mother or wife  at the centre of each. At the end of the train journey, the young girl realises something.  What was so moving about the stories? The film puts together a beautiful chain of anecdotes that are  moving and heartwarming and even heart wrenching at times.  The first story leads to a don Abdul Malik (Natty Natraj) in Mumbai and his love for his deceased mother ( Kaniha)which leads him to save the lives of young lovers.  Another story revolves around a young man ( RioRaj) who lives in a tiny hamlet. His whole life turns upside when he learns that his mother has a terminal disease and only six months to live. Determined to save her life he undertakes but with no money in hand,  he turns to crime. ...

 Kingston ( GV Prakash) lives in a tiny fishing hamlet, which has been affected by a curse due to which anyone who steps into the sea for fishing returns as a corspse. One day, deeply affected by the death of a young lad in the village, Kingston is determined to find out the reason and mystery of the cursed sea and to solve it even at the cost of his life so that the village can flourish again. With his close friends Kingston sets out into the sea in his boat one stormy night.  What happens therafter is a hair -raising series of events mid sea. What happens to Kingston and his friends? Is the curse lifted? The first half sets the backstory of the characters while the  second half carries the fantasy horror aspect of the story towards a most gripping, chilling and engrossing  climax sequence.  Four youngsters ( 2 girls and 2 boys) venture into a forest accompanied by a young local village girl, Kantha, to guide them. Their aim is capture on film,  some supernatural activities in the forest  But when they don't return ,police find the live footage of what they have shot on cameras. What fate did the youngsters meet with? Fully shot in the jungle, the movie manages to keep scares coming,  with jump scares and  scary sounds that add to the mystery and fear factor, just when you least expect them. The use of silence and night effects and natural lighting from torches is well used to increase the thrill factor.  The story line is relatively simple but the presentation  retains a novelty. A series of suicides take place wherein young men slit their stomachs. The one intriguing clue he finds that is uniting all these deaths is that all of them are chess players.
