Movie Review : Gentlewoman

Arvind ( Harikishan ) an insurance executive, is happily married to a homely girl from him native village,  Poorni (Lijomol Jose). One day she discovers that he is having an affair with a girl called Anna (Losliya).

In a fit of rage she kills him with a knife and hides his corpse in the fridge. Soon Anna comes searching for Arvind and even gives a missing person complaint with the cops who come to investigate the matter at Arvind's home.

What happens next?

The film  with an interesting story and engaging screenplay, keeps you rivetted to the screen.

Lijomol displays yet again ,what a consummate performer she is in every scene she appears  in. Harikrishna fits the role to a T while Losliya, gives a finely nuanced act.  Together, the actors carry the film through with conviction.

There is inherant humor in the dialogues and situations like the one where the cops visit Poorni's home to investigate.

Tension is built up all through and the suspense is gripping.

However, the lack of any feeling in Poorni's reactions to her gory act is baffling and though the film is effective as a thriller some of the messages it seemingly tries to conv are confusing.

Overall   a gripping, suspense thriller with superb performances

Rating 3/5
