Baththa' music launch event held on a grand scale!

The audio launch ceremony of the film, directed by Balaji Tharanitharan and starring Vijay Sethupathi, was held on a grand scale at Sathyabama University in the presence of thousands of fans.

The ceremony was held in a grand manner, with the participation of many people including the film crew, celebrities from the film industry, journalists, and fans.

Presented by Star Studio18 and directed by Atlee, the film is jointly produced by A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios Production. The film, which is set to hit theatres worldwide on October 1st, has already generated a lot of excitement among fans, and the audio launch event has added to the excitement.

The Vijay Sethupathi-Balaji Tharanitharan team-up for the third time is one of the major expectations for the film 'Patha'. Having previously worked together in the films 'Naduvula Konjam Pakkath Kaanom' and 'Seethakkaathi', the team is now back together, and there is a lot of anticipation among the fans about the story and making of the film.

Lyricist Karthik Netha spoke at the ceremony..,

“The movie 'Batha' is a very close movie to me. This movie will be an awakening for every human being who can watch life, learn lessons from life, observe every moment and become enlightened. This world is always complicated. This world becomes pleasant only because of those who can understand and overcome those problems with knowledge and love. 'Batha' speaks to that subject beautifully. I say this firmly because I know what this movie is about.

Balaji Anna and I do not have a relationship that started yesterday. Today, many people know me as a poet and lyricist. But Balaji Anna has seen Karthik before I was like this. Once upon a time, I was in a very bad state in life. At that time, he was the one who kept me in the office, gave me food, let me rest, and made me write again. He kept me with him and made me work in the same way in the film 'Naduvula Konjam Pakkath Kaanom'. Balaji Anna was the one who knew what state I was in and did not abandon me.

Balaji Tharanitharan is a man who loves art blindly. He does not need any of the facilities that art can give him; only the peace of mind and that high level of happiness that art can give him is enough for him. I will do anything for him. Not only for this film, I will also write a hundred more 'Magale' songs. As I stand on this stage and speak, I understand even more clearly that there is nothing else in this life other than love.” Thank you

The lyricist spoke in Tamil..,

“This is my first audio launch. I am very happy that sir is sharing this stage with me for the first time. I thank the Think Music team, Santosh Anna, Vignesh Anna and everyone else for giving me this opportunity. Before writing lyrics for the film ‘Batha’, I had mostly written indie songs. But for this film, I had to learn to write in a different way, more poetically. It was a small learning journey for me. The director sir was very helpful in this. Whenever I had any doubts, he would pick up the phone and give me the right inputs and guidance and was my full support. I thank him for that. I also thank Atlee sir.

Lyricist Gana Johnny spoke...

“I am very excited because this is my first time. I have written a different song in this film. So far, some of the songs I have written have gone viral. Some songs have become trending. But I am very grateful to the director sir for finding me and giving me the opportunity to write a song in this film. I don’t know what to say; I am very happy with this opportunity.

Sai Abhyankar called me for the first time and asked me to compose a song. First he sent me the tune. I didn't know whose film it was for or who was acting in it. Only after listening to that tune did I know that it was a film starring Vijay Sethupathi. Being a fan of Vijay Sethupathi, I got excited as soon as I heard that tune. The way Sai spoke was also different. He said that we can take one word and create a different kind of song around it. After that, I finished writing the song.

After the song was ready, we all practiced together. Everyone did a great job during the shoot. I was also very nervous, especially since it was my first time shooting. There were many takes for one scene. Sir, I must apologize for that. But the experience was very new and happy for me. I didn't say much more than that; from now on, only my lyrics will do the talking.”

Art Director Muthuraj spoke…

“I am very happy to be in the film ‘Batha’. Now, I can do many big films. But if you want to make a good film, the actor and the producer have to agree to choose a good story. Thank you to Vijay Sethupathi sir, producers Atlee, Priya and everyone else who agreed to make such a good story. I have known Balaji for a long time. He has always had the idea of making a good story. Many people have good stories; but they don’t get the opportunity for that. Balaji, thank you to everyone who tried to make this film and made it possible.

“For the film ‘Batha’, we created a separate world of 80s Chennai. I have seen a lot of foreign films. Looking at the creation of those films, I thought that we should create such a world in our city too. Balaji also looked at every detail and said that we should make it more unique and a whole world. For that, we designed a lot of props. We worked hard for three months to create many things, including the boxing equipment that you have seen in the trailer. Many of the items that were commonly available at that time are not available now. So we had to work on each small thing separately. But when I watch the film, I feel very happy when I think that there is so much work behind those small items.

“I have praised Selvakumar a lot after watching his previous films. He has done a great job in this film too. Everyone’s work is not in their usual style, but they have understood exactly what the story needs and worked on it. I don’t need to talk about the art, he has mixed it. I also like Lijomol Jose’s performance a lot. He has acted wonderfully in this film too. Everyone has worked very well. I even cried while watching some scenes. That much, this film was a good experience for me.”

Editor Kalaivanan spoke…

“I had taken a break from doing some commercial films. After that, when ‘Batha’ came, there was a big change for me. I couldn’t approach this film like my previous films. I had to stop every scene and work keeping in mind where to cut and where to change the shot. Balaji sir was very helpful to me in that way. Initially, he might have been a little hesitant about having a commercial editor. But I worked for his satisfaction. I hope he is satisfied now. Very satisfied!”

“This is my third film with Sai Abhayanka. I will be working with him on three more films. If Sai Abhayanka's music is like a calling card for this film, then our Selvaraj has beautifully rendered it. His work was also very good. Thank you to everyone.

“Just saying Atlee Anna brings a feeling to my mind. I worked with Ruben sir for six years when I was an assistant editor. Of those, I worked with Atlee Anna for four years on Tamil films he directed, including ‘Raja Rani’, ‘Theri’, ‘Mersal’ and ‘Bigil’. I continued to work with him without giving up that assistant editor role for anyone. If Ruben sir is a school for me, Atlee Anna is like a class teacher for me. Wherever I go today and show my profile, if they ask, ‘Which films have you worked in?’, Atlee Anna’s films are like a calling card for me. There have been many good things in my life with him. I can’t just say thank you for that. Love you Anna!”

Cinematographer Selvakumar spoke…

“When Atlee sir told me about this film, I first called Balaji sir and said, ‘I really like your film. I told him that it is one of the best films I have seen.’ He said that we could come and talk in person and we had a meeting for three days. After that, I got the opportunity to work on this film. Thirteen years ago, I worked as an assistant cinematographer in the film ‘Raja Rani’. I have been an assistant cinematographer in films before that too. Atlee sir will observe and know exactly who is working well on the set. I was very surprised and happy when the person who had saved my number thirteen years ago called me for this film. Whenever I work on good films, he sends me messages and praises me wherever he is. That will always make me happy.

“Balaji sir had said earlier that there would be a lot of takes in this film. He said that we should work accordingly. While working on the film, we discussed and created every look test and look and feel with Muthuraj sir and everyone else. We went to the floor only after that ‘patha’ world was fully formed. Even though there were a lot of takes, there was a good energy in that work. As for Vijay Sethupathi sir, he is called an acting monster. Even though he goes for more than 25 takes, he keeps acting with full continuity from the first to the last line even when he is in a back shot. When I ask, ‘Sir, are you tired?’ he says, ‘No, Selva, I am fine. I am having fun.’ It was a great surprise for me, working with him for the first time.

“Lijomol Jose has taken it to another level. You can see the acting in their eyes. Sai has also acted very well. Muthuraj sir’s team has also worked very well. Even though he didn’t come for a day, his team worked so responsibly that his absence was not noticeable. My assistant cinematographers, cranes, lights, and the entire team have worked very hard. The world of this film will be a little different. I don’t want to say anything about the story right now. But I am confident that it will be a very good film.”

Producer Ajith Andhare spoke...

“We have produced more than 100 films. But today, standing on this stage, I feel like a student. A good student is always learning. When we see Tamil cinema and the creators here, we are amazed and in love. But learning from you is another thing. You cannot just learn the magic that you do. That is why we have to bring Atlee to Mumbai and strengthen our superstars further. Atlee is the biggest reason for this relationship.

“It’s also interesting how this journey began. My colleague Shahana and I were talking about doing something with Atlee. He told us that there was a Tamil script. Since we didn’t know Tamil, we asked, ‘How can we understand this story?’ But Atlee said, ‘Just listen to Balaji sir’s narration.’ The world of ‘Patha’ was created in front of us through Balaji sir’s narration even before it was created in the film. Even though I didn’t understand many of the nuances of the language, the language and story of cinema reached us in the way he told the story. That narration affected us a lot. We were moved to tears while listening to the story in a conference room. Balaji sir’s narration made us feel that much. That’s why we joined this journey.

“If Atlee is a bundle of energy, that energy also needs a calm head. That’s where my friend Murad from Mumbai comes in. This film has created a beautiful relationship between the producers from Chennai and Mumbai. Our entire studio team has immense respect for Vijay Sethupathi sir. We have been amazed by his work including ‘Super Deluxe’ and the recent ‘Maharaja’ and we wonder, ‘How does he make films like this?’ He keeps doing things that are beyond our comprehension. I am very happy to be here today at the event related to this film, where Atlee started his student journey. I wish this film a huge success.”

Producer Murad Ghetani spoke…

“I am very happy and excited to be at the audio launch of ‘Batha’. ‘Batha’ is a very special film for me. I have always been a huge fan of Tamil cinema. In that sense, this is a very important step for Cine1 Studios. I am very happy that ‘Batha’ is our first Tamil film. My thanks to both Atlee sir and Priya madam for making this possible.

“This is my second collaboration with Atlee sir and Priya madam. This is also my second collaboration with Star Studios. My thanks to Balaji sir, Vijay Sethupathi sir, Sai Abhyankar and all the department heads who worked with me for this film. Thanks to Ashwin and the A for Apple team, Akansha, Karthik, Shahana from the Cine1 team, Jio and everyone.

“Thank you to my fellow producers, including Ajith Andhare, Priya, Atlee, and others, who worked with me to make this film. I hope that we will receive as much love and support from you, the fans, as you have given to this film. Thank you to everyone.”

Lyricist Vivek spoke…

“This is a family function. Atlee brother has been in our family for a long time. So I have to come here. When I call my wife, for the last 12 years, her call-up song has been ‘Crazy Minnal’. That song was featured in Sethu’s film ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkath Kaanom’ directed by Balaji Tharanitharan. He has kept that song written by Karthik Netha for all these years. This is a small example of the talent and quality of these artists.

“One relationship cannot be replaced by another. ‘Patha’ beautifully expresses how special a relationship is. When Atlee told me about this film, there was one line he said that really impressed me. Sethunna’s journey is also very important for Tamil cinema. He has been continuously travelling in great works like ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkath Kaanom’, ‘Soothugavvum’, ‘Pizza’, ‘Vikram Vedha’, ‘Viduthulai’ and has created an important place for himself. I believe that ‘Patha’ should also join that list.

“I am proud to call Atlee my friend. At the same time, I have learned a lot from him. Priya is also a part of our family. Atlee is creating things in our Tamil cinema that are amazing to see abroad. He keeps growing in every film. He is a role model for all of us. Sai and I have worked together on the songs 'Pavazhamalli' and 'Radhimma'. Now when I heard the song from the film 'Patha', it was amazing. I am very happy that Karthik Netha is in this film.

“The director has been given complete freedom to work in whatever field he wants to work in. The credit for that goes to the producers. The film has excellent artists including Lijomol and a talented crew. I hope 'Patha' will be a huge success. My best wishes to the entire crew.”

Director Bhagyaraj Kannan spoke…

The film “Patha” is a film that is very close to me. I have been a fan of the films of the director of this film, Balaji Dharaneetharan Anna, since the beginning. I have been very impressed with his works, especially since the film “Naduvula Konjam Pakkath Kaanom”. Now this film, which has been made under his direction, has come out very well.

I have always had immense respect and love for Atlee sir, my guru. I am proud of his journey and the place he has created in cinema. It is a great pleasure to have him on board for this film. Similarly, Vijay Sethupathi sir is also my favorite actor. I continue to admire his acting.

My heartfelt congratulations to the entire team of “Patha”. Balaji Dharaneetharan Anna, Vijay Sethupathi sir, Atlee sir and everyone else’s hard work should make this film a great success. I wish the film a huge success.

Director Sibi Chakravarthy spoke...

“I last came to Sathiyabhama College for the shooting of “Don”. It is a pleasure to be here again. I have worked with Atlee sir in the films “Theri” and “Mersal”. I have traveled with him for almost four years. Thank you sir for not giving up on me and for continuously encouraging me during that time. I am always amazed by the things you do by combining your hard work and big dreams. You have made a film that Indian cinema itself is proud of. The scenes you showed were very awe-inspiring. In a few days, everyone is going to see it on screen.”

“Rajamouli sir is taking Indian cinema to the world stage. I believe that Atlee sir is also going to take Indian cinema to the world stage. I am very proud to be your student. Recently, I was going through a very painful period when Rajini sir abandoned me for a film. At that time, Atlee sir called me on the phone and said, ‘You are a blockbuster director, don’t worry’. Those words gave me the confidence to run again. I will make you proud with my next film soon, sir. Similarly, Priya akka, you treated us like family since I was an assistant director. May you receive great success for your good heart and the help you continue to provide.”

“I am a big fan of Balaji Dharaneetharan sir’s “Naduvula Konjam Pakkath Kaanom”. It is difficult for us to get approval from our director by telling a scene. But you have told an entire story and got approval. So I am very interested to watch this film. Vijay Sethupathi sir is one of the very few actors who can give everything at the same time, mass, serious acting, and entertainment. I am a big fan of his films. Sai Abhayankar continues to rise; he will also compose music for the next film I am directing. He is a very hard worker. He needs to rise many times more. I hope the film “Patha” will fill the gap in entertainment films that has been there in Tamil cinema in recent times. Everyone including art, cinematography, Muthuraj brother have done a great job. Congratulations to everyone. Take this film to the theatres with your family and make it a success. Thank you.”

Actress Lijomol Jose spoke...

“'Batha' is a very special film for me in many ways. First of all, it was a great pleasure to work with our wonderful director Balaji sir. It was another great pleasure to act alongside and share the screen with one of India's finest actors, Vijay Sethupathi sir. It was a great experience for me to work on this film with a talented music composer like Sai Abhayar, produced by Atlee sir.”

“From the moment I got the call from Atlee sir’s production house for this film to the moment I am standing on this stage now, everything has been like a dream. Working with Balaji sir has been a truly great experience. Vijay Sethupathi sir, I have already told you that you are my favourite actor. It was a great pleasure working with you. You were very kind and encouraging to me. Your compliments on my performance made me feel like I had received a huge award. Thank you very much for that.”

“Thank you to all my co-stars, the entire crew of this film. I came to this stage after thinking a lot and practicing a lot. But now I can’t speak. At this moment, I feel like saying only one thing. I am very proud to be a part of this beautiful world of ‘Batta’. It was my greatest joy to be a part of this film. Thank you to everyone.”

Director Balaji Dharaneetharan spoke…

“I started writing the story for ‘Batha’ during the Corona lockdown. It took me a long time to finish this screenplay. After finishing it, I first told the story to Sethu. He took it to Atlee. After listening to the story, he said that we can make this film immediately without taking much time. After that, when I told the story to the producers Murad Khedani sir and Ajith Andare sir, they also agreed to make the film immediately. So the journey of making this film was very easy and happy for me. Sethu and I got along very well on the set and created an environment where everyone enjoyed working. My thanks to cinematographer Selvakumar for bringing the look and world of the story that I had in mind to the screen.”

“Art plays a huge role in this film. I thought of a story, and when I finished filming it, I thought, ‘This story is such a big world.’ Art director Muthuraj and his team played a major role in bringing it to the screen in the right way and without losing interest. Similarly, Sai Abhayankar has surprised me a lot. Our musical journey has been different. I thank Sai and Atlee for pushing the boundaries of what I thought and making me do new things. He has done wonderful work not only with the songs but also with the background score. I sincerely wish Sai even greater heights for this film.”

All the actors in this film, including Lijomol, Harikrishnan, Shanthi Balachandran, Sahasra, Sai Prithvi, Vijayagovind, Arjun Sharma, worked on the set with great love and dedication. Their honest work made me feel responsible to work even better. I hope this film will fulfill that hope for everyone who has faith in the film 'Patha'. My heartfelt thanks to everyone.”

Music composer Sai Abhayankaar spoke…

“Seeing everyone after a long time. After the film ‘Karuppu’, after a song like ‘Radhima’, it is a huge opportunity for me to meet you again with ‘Batha’ and I feel very grateful for it. Atlee Anna was the starting point for the creation of ‘Batha’. I have been traveling with him for almost two and a half years. My mentors Santosh Anna and Mahesh Anna were the first to take me to him for this film. At that time, Anna asked if I could do a film directed by Balaji Dharaneetharan sir. I am a big fan of ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkath Kaanom’ and even more so of ‘Seethakkaathi’. So I immediately got excited at the idea of making the story of this film even better through music. I will be forever grateful to Atlee Anna for giving me this opportunity.”

“Balaji sir is very honest. He tells me straight to my face what he likes and what he doesn’t like. That made it very easy to work with him. He also makes it very clear what he expects from me. The music sessions for this film were a great experience for me. If I liked it, he would praise it; if I didn’t like it, he would say, ‘Let’s try something else.’ That honest approach made me work even better. I thank Balaji sir for this opportunity. I wish to work with him in many more films. I am a huge fan of Vijay Sethupathi Anna. It has been a long-standing desire to work with him. It is like God’s blessing for me to get that opportunity through this film. Sethu Anna, thank you very much for this opportunity. I love you very much.”

“Priya Akka also always teaches me a lot of things for my development. She has constantly taught me how to express myself and what to do and how to do it. I am also grateful to her. I also thank the producers of this film. I have full faith in 'Batha'. I am sure that this film will definitely be a huge success. Everyone who worked on this film has done an excellent job. Working with them was a very happy experience for me. I hope 'Batha' will be a film that will be remembered for a long time. I am very proud to have been a part of this film. Thank you to everyone.”

Actor Vijay Sethupathi spoke…

“First of all, I want to thank Atlee sir. I love his films. I have a very close relationship with him. Not only did he come forward to produce this film, but his words immediately after hearing the story, ‘This film will be talked about a lot at world festivals and in theaters,’ gave me immense confidence. Thanks to all the producers including Murad sir and Ajith sir. I have known Balaji Dharaneetharan for almost 15 years. Watch his films like ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkath Kaanom’, ‘Oru Pakka Katha’, ‘Seetha Kaathi’. It is a great thing for a man to not lose love and respect for those around him for all these years. He is a good man who does not speak badly about anyone even if they have hurt him. He does not have two faces. He is a beautiful man. I have full confidence that only someone like Balaji can make this film. I am very happy to have a close friend like him.”

“Lijomol has acted very well in this film. I have seen his performance on set. But when I saw him on screen, I could see that he had completely entered that world of our life as husband and wife, the house, the child. The way he used the place and the objects like someone at home was very natural. I was amazed at how he did it. Lijo, I really liked your performance.

Similarly, Sai Abhayanka has played a very important role in this film. He has reached another level through this film. His music is a huge strength for this film. Similarly, that little boy is confused. Sahasra is a very important character who carries this story. It is very surprising to see how much responsibility the kid we saw six, eight months ago has now taken on. He has acted very well.”

“You may have many questions about what kind of film this will be, what kind of story it will be. There may also be a question about how it is possible to make both an award-winning film and a huge box office hit in the same film. I believe that ‘Patha’ will answer all those questions. When a hero and a scholar meet, there will be competition between them. But when a hero or a scholar meets an innocent person, the magic that happens is of a different kind. No amount of power can defeat the knowledge within that innocence. I believe that feeling is the basis of this film. All the actors including Vishnu, Bala, Harish, Arjun have acted very well. You will enjoy every single person in the film.

After watching the film, Sabari called me and told me to send this film for the Oscars. I am very happy that someone believes in our film to that extent. I also fully believe that this film is that good. My thanks to all the technicians, actors, lyricists, and crew including Selva. If I have missed anyone's name, please forgive me. We will meet everyone at the cinema. This film will surely entertain you. Thank you. I love you all.”

Director Atlee spoke...

“First of all, I would like to apologize and thank everyone who has been patient for so long. ‘Batha’ is not just a film for me. I believe that this will be one of those films that will make us think even after the passage of time. This film will tell everyone, fathers, women, children, how to be a good human being with humanity. At the same time, it will be a completely new kind of mass entertainment film. I am very happy to have produced this film and presented it with Ajith sir and Jio Studios. Murad Khedani sir is like a family member to me. I thank him and the Jio Studios team.”

“It is difficult to find a director like Balaji Dharaneetharan even in world cinema. We do not celebrate the talents in our own country and only look at the outside world. But directors like Balaji are a great asset to our cinema. When I first met Sai Abhayanka, he was very young. He said that he would compose a song a day and sleep with it. I decided to work with him only after seeing that passion in him. Just as there is a unique music composer for every era like Ilayaraja, A.R. Rahman, Harris Jayaraj, Yuvan, Anirudh, I believe that Sai Abhayanka will have a unique era. Sai, always maintain the humility you have. You have to reach great heights.”

“Lijomol is a wonderful actress. When I saw her in this film, I felt like we had left such a talented actress unused before. You are a great actress. You should get more great opportunities. Kalai and Selva have done a great job in this film. I have always had great faith in Kalai. Selva has been with me since my short film days. My mother has taught me since childhood that if we take good care of those around us, life will take good care of us. Selva is one of the people I chose with that faith. Thank you to everyone including Muthuraj Anna, Karthik Netha.”

“Arjun Chidambaram, you have acted very well in this film. I think the industry has not yet fully utilized the talent within you. You have to do even bigger things. Harish, I have also enjoyed your performance very much. I got a feeling like I was seeing my father on screen through ‘Batha’. I will remember you for a long time. Everyone has worked very hard in this film. ‘Batha’ will be a great entertainer. Please go and watch it in the theatres. The film will leave you with a feeling at the end. I hope that after watching this film, you will ask, ‘When will Balaji Anna give you a film like this next?’”

“Vijay Anna is the main reason why I have grown to this point and am standing on this stage today. Don’t think I am repeating this again and again. He is now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu; he cannot give me another film from now on. But I cannot deny that he is the main reason why I have come to this point where I am today and has continued to give me great opportunities in my life and has nurtured me. Sometimes, wrong things and negative comments may come on social media. But we should not pay attention to them. As Vijay Anna always says, we should ignore the negative things and keep moving forward towards our goal. Our life will take us where we need to go. So, we should not worry about what anyone says and focus on our journey,” he said.

The film has been composed by young composer Sai Abhyankar. Lijomol Jose, who gained attention through the film 'Jai Bhim', has played the female lead in the film. Selvakumar SK has handled the cinematography, R. Kalaivanan has handled the editing. D. Muthuraj has worked as the production designer. Ashwin Murugan is the co-producer.

Murad Khedani, Priya Atlee, Alok Jain and Ajith Andare have jointly produced the film 'Batta'.

The highly anticipated film 'Patha' is set to release in theaters worldwide on October 1. The excitement of the fans who gathered at the audio launch and the information shared by the film crew further increased the expectations for the film.
