Inbaraj ( Suraj) was an ace cop known for his acumen in solving tough crimes. So much so that when he decides to resign from his job, his boss ( Lal) refuses to let him go.

Why Inbaraj gives up his career remains a mystery to those around him, except  to his newly hired assistant ( Nazariya).

But due to a series of circumstances, Inbaraj is pulled into a serial killer case involving Eswaran ( Naslen) which challenges his impeccable crime solving record.

Why did Inbaraj leave his job? Does he solve the case? Who helps him? Is the killer ever caught?

Director Jithu Madhavan ( of Aavesham fame) tackles a crime comedy and display considerable skill in balancing the challenges of such  a story and screenplay.

He is helped by a stellar supporting cast and his main leads Suriya and Nazariya who pull off a coup with their histronics and nuanced performances.

Suriya is in a trendy, new age avatar and looking even more dapper and charming than ever, in a role that balances humor with crome solving seriousness. Its tough to think of anyone else who could pull off such a, role and remain comfortable in his skin while doing so, in taking up such a challenging task.

Nazariy shines  in a top notch act while Naslen brings a,refreshing feel to his role with his nonchalant but confident act.

The screenplay shifts from fun to srtious in a most unpredictable manner, and sometimes this can throw off the viewer and takes time getting used to.  Many a time the jokes dont land or things get repetitive. But the film makes up for it in the next few frames with twists galore, grabbing your attention again.

The romance is different, the screenplay is unpredictable and the story  offbeat. Added to it all,  the refreshing feel and Suriya's terrific performance are reasons, enough to watch the movie. Watch out for the cameos and a spellbinding climax.

Rating 3.75/5
