by Rinku Gupta Action King Arjun completed  his portion for the shooting of Kolaigaran.  The moment was celebrated on the location by the team with the cutting of a cake.  The film stars Vijay Antony and is directed by Andrew Louis ( of Leelai fame). Arjun was part of the Vishal starrer Irumbu Thirai in a negative role which received a stupendous response and was a big plus for the film. His presence in Kolaigaran is bound to raise expectstions from the film. Further, director Andrew Louis returns to the screen after a long hiatus with this film. KV Anand tweeted that the title of thier 3rd collaboration aka Suriya 37 would be Kaappaan. The first look poster of this Lyca Productions film, shows Suriya in a suave avatar, wielding a gun, looking very much like someone in the armed services. According to the grapevine he is believed to play a body guard to Mohanlal who is said to be donning the role of the Prime Minister. Mohanlal was last seen in Tamil in the Vijay starrer Jilla. KV Anand, in a social media innovative poll to chose a title, gave fans three  options, namely Uyirka, Kaappaan and Meetpan. Uyirka emerged the winner but later Anand disclosed that his team felt that Kaappaan would be best suited , so they chose that. One of the tie-ups was touted to be with Mundasapatti and now superhit Ratsasan fame director Ramkumar who had revealed he was fine- tuning a script for Dhanush. Now the official announcement has come with a puja by producers Sathyajyothi Films. The cast and crew will be announced shortly. The film is tentatively called Production No. 35.

Even before the commencement of the shooting, Yogi Babu, producer P. Ranganathan and director Muthu Kumaran of this film visited the temple of Yama Dharma Raja in Kumbakonam followed by Vallkottai Murugan Temple. Moreover, the huge set works of Yama Lokham worth Rs.2Cr has been erected in a Chennai studio. To make sure that the divinity of Yama Dharma Raja prevails, the entire team has turned vegetarian on the sets, where non-vegetarian food items aren’t cooked or served on the location spot. This shows their spiritual inclination and sincere belief in the sanctity of the characters portrayed. Amala plays the lead as a forensic surgeon in a film, directed by Anoop Panicker and scripted by Abhilash Pillai. According to the team, this is the first  time a thriller based on forensic investigation featuring a protagonist as forensic surgeon is being made in the  Indian film industry. The film revolves around her  unique methods in  solving a mysterious crime. The film is apparently  based on a real life investigative case handled by former Kerala Police surgeon Dr. B Umadathan. Both Anoop Panicker and Abhilash Pillai had been involved in deep discussions of the story with her for nearly 6 months. Now yet another avatar awaits him, this time in the Adult horror comedy genre, that too, in a 3D format.  In this film, he teams up with not one but two heroines, which include the sizzling Yashika Anand of Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kutthu and Bigg Boss fame and Nikki Tamboli. The emergence of the ‘Adult Horror Comedy’ genre has  gotten a mixed reception in Tamil. We will have the first leg  of shoot starting from January and the scenes will be shot in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously,” says filmmaker Naveen.  The filmmaker adds that Vijay Antony has gone through a makeover, and  many might not recognize him at the first sight. “This wasn’t something intentional, but the role he plays demanded  certain changes in look. The Yash starrer KGF chaper 1 is roaring towards success in Pan Indian languages. Screens are being increased in many centres due to popular demand.The visuals of the film are a major highlight. Captured by the cameraman Bhuvan Gowda, directed by Prashant Neel, the smoke, haze, black and grey tones and sandy storms give viewers an idea of the terrible conditions the slave labour had to work in, in the gold mines  in the film.  In interviews to media, cameraman Bhuvan  Gowda revealed how hard the team had to work,  "Every shot of KGF was captured with a shoulder-held camera. While many prefer using steady cameras, neither the director nor I was keen on it. I risked carrying the heavy camera on my shoulders, but that helped in getting some hazy shots, which were required for the film. There were times I used to run with the camera on my shoulders.
