 A young boy, Aditya ( Ajitej) son of an aspiring MLA, is studying to be an astrophycist. One day, he buys an antique telescope and uses it to study a rare solar eclipse. Ever since that day,  he is able to predict the death of anyone just by looking into their eyes. After research he finds that this is due to the 300 year old, mysterious,  cursed telescope.  As a result he is scared of looking into people's eyes. One day he discovers the same premonition when he looks into his girlfriend's eyes and knows that she is going to die in 7 days. What happens next? Is he able up save her? The film has an interesting fantasy plot with a high suspense quotient, maintained by the director in the screenplay. The making is rich with superb visuals in the second half in the Kodaikanal portions.The well paced out screenplay, moves the story steadily forward, leaving no room for boredom.  India Post, Karnataka Postal Circle, in association with Hombale Films, proudly released a Special Cover, a set of two Picture Postcards, and a Cancellation Stamp celebrating the vibrant cultural heritage of Karnataka. The release highlights the sacred Bootha Kola ritual, as powerfully depicted in the National Award-winning film Kantara. The event, held in Bengaluru on 22nd September, was graced by members of the media and representatives of the Karnataka Circle. The unveiling was done by Kantara’s writer, director and actor Rishab Shetty, Sri Sandesh Mahadevappa, Director Postal Services (HQ), Karnataka Postal Circle,Sri H M Manjesha, Chief Postmaster, Bengaluru GPO and Producer Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films.  A youing couple, Priyan (newbie Tharshan) and Vijayalaxmi ( Charmi) are placed before a judge for  a crime they say they did not commit.  The judge however is puzzled by their names and appearances.  Upon enquiry the duo reveal that the duo  were actually lovers. But the girl's family were hell bent on eliminating the boy.  In order to escape the life threat to her lover, the girl decided to change their genders via an operation, so that they will no longer be able to be found by her family and be able to live in peace.  What trials and tribulations do they face as a result of their decision?  The film is a fictionalised account of the story of a real life leader.   Kaduvetti Guru ( Gowthaman) is much revered in north TN  region, as he protects people and helps the community through his activities. But his growing influence is not viewed  positively by higher ups  and thus a senior cop is assigned to investigate him and finish off his activities in a way that he cannot rise again and loses his grip on his people.  Do the villains succeed? The film has good production values, grand visuals, big action blocks, a good supporting cast and solid performances from V Gowthaman and his son Tamil ( who plays his younger self with power and vigor). Both actors deliver superbly in the action blocks as well as the emotional scenes. Poojitha plays his wife and leaves a mark in the limited screen time while Saranya Ponvannan as the mother,  delivers a powerful and emotional performancdme yet again.
