Writers should also be given importance in Tamil cinema like Malayalam cinema. In that sense, Puthi Bharathi is an important writer. For so long, I had been behind the camera and just listening to others say 'action'. But now, for the first time, with the film 'Pookki', I have come in front of the camera and started saying 'action-cut'.

In today’s environment, it is not easy to complete a film quickly and bring it to a commercial and release-worthy state. Zee has bought the film. A huge thank you to producer Vijay Antony sir for making it possible. I cannot fail to mention Vijay Antony sir. The only explanation for his hard work is “Keep trying. Even if you make mistakes, do it until you get it right.” That energy to work day and night inspired us all. This film is not an ordinary effort. I did not even give the story to Ganesh Chandra with the intention of making it into a film. He said, “Give me a script to read.” The film was confirmed within two days of reading it — it was like magic to me. The biggest strength I got in this film was Ganesh Chandra sir and producer Vijay Antony sir. Both of them believed in the story and stayed true to it. They firmly said, “This is how the script should be.” It is rare for a first-time writer to get such an opportunity. While I was writing, this film was running in my mind with music and editing. I thank Vijay Antony sir for bringing that feeling to the screen through music and editing. In this film, music is not just the background, it speaks for many scenes. That is the biggest strength of this film. The directorial team, costume designer Mala Vika, choreographer, every technician worked not as a team — but as a family. This film really did not feel like a job to me. It was an experience like being with a family. Hello everyone. You all must have seen the song scenes and scenes in this film. I have twice as many expectations as you all have. The reason for that is Ganeshchandra. He is not only a cinematographer but also a director. I am making a film with Vijay Antony and Ajay in a village setting. In that film, everyone has a full-on look. Vijay Antony has a farmer character. But in this film, if you look at it… everything is colorful and fresh. It was a big surprise to see it. Ajay has handled two different types of characters very beautifully in my film and in this film. He is truly talented. I am confident that there will be a very sensitive, emotional love story in this film. I have heard about Ganeshchandra. The story he takes and the way he tells it always has a feeling. And Vijay Antony's songs... Even the songs that are supposed to come in a sad place have a special touch, and he has put them in a very beautiful style.
