Film Review: Good Night
Goodnight, starring Manikandan, Ramesh Thilak, Meetha and others, is a feel good comedy directed by Vinayak Chandrasekar that hit theatres on May 12th.
Mohan ( Manikandan) lives with his mom, two sisters and bro-in-law Ramesh( Ramesh Thilak). He has an acute snoring problem that makes marriage plans difficult. One day, he meets Anu ( Meetha Raghunath) a quiet, lovinv girl and love blossoms.
However, after marriage, problems crop up between the duo when his snoring problem is revealed. What happens next? Does true love win?
Stellar performances by every member of the cast, aided by some excellent writing, perfecf casting, situational humor and characters caught up in a whirlpool of emotions, all make this slice of life film, well worth a watch.
The emotional highs and lows, the peek into the sweet and sour moments into the character's lives, the depth of emotions explored, always humor just a skip away, all add to the viewing experience of this family entertainer.
On the flip side, the problems between the Anu and Mohan seem a tad repetitively shown as well as with not enough of an adequate reason for their decision to break up.
But overall, Goodnight is one slice-of-life, feel good movie, with a unique premise, well worth watching, with friends and family.
